Fed Weighs Debt Sales of Its Own

Yeah, it is amazing that there is demand for the Treasury's notes at these rates to begin with. This whole money printing event can't end without repurcussions...can it?

Fed Weighs Debt Sales of Its Own

Very interesting points. So if the Fed issues bonds so they don't have to print money they will pay them off at a later date with printed money? So, essentially, the Fed is deferring money printing? There is no way they are going to sell this. The Fed is out of control. Didn't I just post that?

Fed Weighs Debt Sales of Its Own

Nice tact. :p This might be a way of redirecting capital from money market funds to specific areas.

What would happen if all central banks stopped printing money today?

That is a good question but I have no idea. By definition they will not stop printing money until conditions have improved. They aren't made that way. Their jobs are to fix things right? :D Then they will have to fix something else even bigger.

    Chinese Peg to the Dollar

It seems to me that a huge problem with the US economy can be narrowed down to the US Dollar/Chinese Yuan exchange rate and other Asian countries that peg their currencies to the US Dollar. We are so addicted to cheap products that we have let China get away with this for years. So long in...

    A question on austrian economics.

Why would that have to change? The only difference is the paper currency is exchangable into gold.

You need to REWARD Chase with not paying your balance. They raised your rate. They are taking that chance so screw them. Just don't pay. Free markets.

Please help me to understand, why inflation is bad?

You solve the problem with time. All the excesses are brought back in to balance and then demand begins to pick up. Inflation is nothing more than a tax. Sooner or later the govt will rev up the inflation tax on the unsuspecting public.

    15B for the Automakers

Ok, now you are getting rediculous. Manufacturing in America will only grow when they can produce better products at better prices. Seriously, how can people get so off track? So basically, you favor the governent controlling everything? It scares the hell out of me that people actually...

    15B for the Automakers

I actually believe the country would rejoice that FINALLY the country has made a stand and that if you run a company poorly you are gone. The GM brand or Ford brand would be alive and well and there will be investors picking up the pieces quickly. The old way of doing business will be gone and...

Breaking: Obama unveils 21st Century New Deal

This isn't about Rupublican vs. Demacrats. Real change is needed from whomever is in office. Spending more money is not going to solve the problem. How about somebody do something different. Anybody. Sometimes I question a system where lawyers run the country. Business people with good...

Please help me to understand, why inflation is bad?

A little inflation over many years is not that harmful. However, when inflation accelerates, it becomes devastating. Here is an Excerpt from Paper Money by "Adam Smith," that illustrates that devastation. "My father was a lawyer," says Walter Levy, an internationally known German-born...

    14) We import far more than we export. free trade seems to mean, "you sell to the USA, and don't really buy from the USA" New rule - unless it is raw materials or we absolutely need it, you must buy 70-80%, of what you sell here, back an American goods and services or pay the difference as a...

Breaking: Obama unveils 21st Century New Deal

So, in your opinion, the government is basically debasing their way out of this mess? I guess they believe they can just take it all back once the economy improves? This may never end or might end badly.
