Natural Gas, will it still follow oil??

Natural gas is the real, but quiet bull market of 2008. Unlike crude oil, it has not received too much attention from the media. The main reason for the price increase is technology advancement. Traditionally, due of its composion, natural gas couldn't be transported over long distances...

If you are a CTA, what option you use to calculate ROR?

Neither method is easy to calculate, although in my view Compounded ROR is more accurate than the others. Some CTAs use the ROR method, but they accept new money under management only at the end of the quarter. Same thing for withdrawals. Also they don't take into consideration reinvestment...

Zimbabwe: billions are rarely used, been replaced by quadrillions - a million billion

I'd rush to buy them Z dollars. Now that Zimbabwe's Central Bank is out of paper, the end is near. Without money to pay his army, Mugabe may be forced out of office by his own people ... Just keep an eye on the news. I give him 3 more months ... at best :p

    Fundamentals

Debra, since your trading method is based on TA I strongly urge you to ignore all the noise, such as the reccomendations from your broker and the news. Just focus on the charts ... Question: have you backtested your method on a significant data sample?

Trading is Bad for your Mental Health

I've been trading for a living for few years now ... at the beginning loosing positions used to keep me up at night. I remember not being able to sleep for 4 weeks in a row once. Later on I developed something called .. indiference. That is when a trade, regardless of the result, it's just...

Oil is going to cause a World Depression

Yep, oil is at all times high ... However its inflationary effect on economy is damped by the slow housing market. If anybody paid attention to 3rd quarter GDP numbers, US exports more than ever. On the other hand importers are reluctant to pass on increasing costs to customers. As far as I can...

Part time ... no relocation requirements

I've been lurking around career forum for quite a while .... I trade at home full time my own money and not only. I write options on futures, and modesty aside results are not bad at all. This being said, I won't mind having some kind of market research / trading related job that doesn't require...

This is the real reason why the Euro is too strong:

I agree with Ron .... also let's don't forget that American business found ways to profit from a weak dollar, the profits of multinationals are higher than ever and the trade deficit is not as wide as it used to due to increased exports. Given the resilience of American economy is just a matter...
