    Alternative input/feedback hardware...

Was just looking at the following: http://arduino.cc/ ...and wondered if there was anyone out there that was using alternatives to mice/keyboard/monitor for input and feedback for their discretionary or automated trading? Just curious to see how creative people have got. Whether it's...

Anyone write a Visual Basic program to help their trading?

    Um...I thought they were releasing a real-time version 2 or 3 years ago. Or am I mis-membering?

Are there any Broker Web Service Trading API ?

Agreed. Agreed and implies then that there's no benefit to using HTTP at all as the protocol. Sure, a lot of tools to make working with SOAP easy have been around a long time (although it took a while to get to that point); Given a WSDL there exist tools or IDEs for most languages to...

    Proximity Hosting with NASDAQ/NYSE

Are you interested in high-frequency or just low-latency? Can you quantify "very quickly"? If co-location at the exchanges isn't an absolute MUST, there are plenty of options for low-latency co-location e.g. http://www.limebrokerage.com/index.php?title=Lime_Brokerage_LLC Search...

Are there any Broker Web Service Trading API ?

I think your points are all valid though I don't think the OP had SOAP necessarily in mind. Probably more along the lines of REST APIs, JSon etc. For order placement/management, where confirmations etc. can be asynchronous, I'd hate to have to implement some kind of polling over HTTP...

Are there any Broker Web Service Trading API ?

optionsxpress (www.optionsxpress.com) used to have a web-based API...but that was several years ago. Don't know about now. I understand where you're coming from but it's a little bit different in this industry. There are a bunch of brokers that support an API that doesn't require desktop...

    Spammer. slow, but methodical

Sorry Ed but this time you're probably wrong. You're not supposed to advertise your commercial products on this site without being a paying sponsor. That is what TraderZones is referring to. Have a chat with Baron, it may not be that expensive and it could work out as a good ROI. If you...

    The Curious Story of TickZoom

You're being dishonest about your dishonesty. That makes you an even bigger liar. You weren't being very honest when you were pretending to be someone else and you wrote: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=2415952#post2415952 Both the alias you wrote that with...

    The Curious Story of TickZoom

Dear Wayne Walter, Not as sorry as I am Wayne. THESE ARE THE FACTS (verifiable by links that actually work): Mr. Walter, anyone with two brain cells can see that you were using your "chaostheory" handle to pretend to be a neutral third party observer (whilst drumming up interest in...

Automated trading with stocks and 2 options

Hello Tommaso. Thanks for having a good sense of humor about it. I had to fill my sarcasm quota for the month. I admire the way you're willing to try something completely new that you haven't read out of a book or on some anonymous forum. However, I don't think it's prudent to trade...

Automated trading with stocks and 2 options

This is a seriously genius idea. I can't believe you're discussing it on a public forum! Trading an underlying against a long option position....who would have thunk it? I especially like the idea of using 2 accounts - it wouldn't really work otherwise. Genius. I think you should dub...

    Wall St. Recruiters: Slime bags?

This is standard practice for recruiters in any industry. It is not snake oil. It is common sense and in both your and the recruiter's best interest. Under no circumstances reveal any information about live job offers. If you're asked, politely decline to reply. You may think they're...

Anyone up for collaberating on replicating Chan scripts in Python?

Back in 96 and 97 when I was even more of a newb than I am today, I developed a couple of projects in a functional programming language called Miranda (which is probably now dead)....seems these things are back in vogue. Could be fun to pick that stuff up again and see how it can be applied...

is it harder to get a trading developer job in ny than chicago

Anyone competent can see, QuickFix experience or not, that the posted code is pretty horrible...and not just because of QuickFix. There's a lot of duplicate and boilerplate code. Boilerplate code normally sets alarm bells ringing for me. I'm sure with a little bit of thought, factory...
