    Something very simplistic

BTW - You can also decrease your decision making time by setting up your direction indication to be easy to see at just a glance. I have my 2 minute chart set up so that I don't even need to look at the actual stochastic. I have it set to color the current bar green if the %K is > the %D...

    Something very simplistic

I think there are many ways to set all this up - everyone has their ways I'm sure - and there is good and bad about both TSW and PATS. For PATS, it is pretty simple to do this, even on both ES and NQ, if you use DOME to enter the orders. You can set up you entries to be "single click" - not...

    JT's ES Trades

JT - How does that plan differ from your original plan? Not saying anything critical, I'm just interested in what you decided you needed to change before you restarted. BTW - The first good thing I notice is that you did what you said you were going to do - stop and regroup. That seems like...

    Kudos for Ensign...

Where you been, breakout? :D That's been there for quite a while. And it does work wonderfully for "realtime" backtesting. There are a lot of playback files on the dacharts.com site also.

    i want to understand this

GG - Re: Trending I think the answer is this. No one can really say for sure that the market "is in a downtrend" or "is in an uptrend". All someone can say for sure is that the market "was in a downtrend" or "was in an uptrend" the last time they looked, which, of course, may have been...

So, do you understand yet? :)

    Missing the big picture

I wouldn't say that is what you see in "each" case - for I know that in my case that isn't the case - and in a couple of others journals I've read there. And for me, struggling all day long, glued to a computer monitor and sitting on the edge of the chair are certainly not the case...
  8. Q

    Something very simplistic

I don't know. Hard to tell without more history behind it. Otherwise I'd have to say it is just "normal". There were an above average number of reversals today on both NQ and ES. Honestly, I like to see this sort of stuff. If every trade was a winner, I'd tend to have less faith that it...
  9. Q

    Something very simplistic

Yes, on the close ones it seems to almost always get a fill unless three is some really big size ahead of you - if I remember correctly that happened a couple of times the first week. Today was the tightest I've seen since I started this 9/11 though.

For ES: 16 trades, 11 winners, 5 losers, +6 points For NQ: 16 trades, 10 winners, 6 losers, +10.50 points Web based detailed workbook: http://home.carolina.rr.com/quah/quah1web.htm Native Excel Workbook: http://home.carolina.rr.com/quah/quah1web.xls

I think he means that changing the servers changed one of the bars.
  12. Q

    ctrl-alt-N will change it.
  13. Q

    Something very simplistic

I agree, it will all even out I'm sure - and not all trades end up being as tight as those two. However, it seems to me that QCharts could at least be consistent...lol.
  14. Q

    Something very simplistic

Okay, I did some checking - seems that QCharts has conflicting information. For example, on the 10:04 trade, if you are connected to the sterling-10 server, you will get 848.25 as the open, like I did. If you are connected to the 64.210.188.29 server, you will get 848, like you did...
  15. Q

    Something very simplistic

zorak- I don't know what to tell you - I've seen this before though - i guess different vendor feeds are going to have different data sometimes. Those prices today are based on a feed from ESignal. I'll compare to QCharts in a minute. I wonder if you will get different bar opens if you...
  16. Q

    Something very simplistic

Yes, exactly. And back into the old habits of improving something until it doesn't work anymore. :)
  17. Q

    Something very simplistic

I might think about something like that later on - as a totally separate system.
  18. Q

    Something very simplistic

I finally got some space set up that I can access directly - so I'm going to keep the journals Excel workbook here from now on: http://home.carolina.rr.com/quah/quah1web.htm You don't need Excel to see it. If you'd rather download the Worksheet file itself...
  19. Q

    Something very simplistic

You misunderstand my position on knowing "why" it didn't work. I know why it didn't work - I got stopped out too many times and took a couple of double hits because the price did not move my way. That's about the only answer that I can prove. Anything else would be pure speculation. There...
  20. Q

    Something very simplistic

No, I haven't kept track of that. All the data is in the spreadsheet thought, you could get it from there.
