mystery - Barrons hush about sellers

I had heard on CNBC (and saw a small note in the WSJ today) that Europeans were pulling funds out of the US. Don't know if that explains it, though

I agree. I need the P&L to show the current open P&L not the cummulative P&L for the day.

    Thinking of leaving Cybertrader

I went through exactly the same decision in january. CyberTrader has decent software, but it's simply too expensive to learn to trade with $15 commisiion. I don't know about you, but I insisted on trading 100 to 200 share lots until I consistiently proved profitable. I recommend switching...

    Fairvalue Strategy

I only found $PREM useful on the very short term, ie one to 5 minute resolution.

    Money from others...

Limitdown and BigEd are right. The only way to do what you want to do without registration is to open an "Investment Club" account. Everyone signs the same paperwork, and there are ways to limit who have the ability to execute trades. Using an Investment Club also means that the "poooling of...

IB: slow order entry today...anybody else?

I upgraded this morning before I issued any trades. Here are my experience from today ISLD went live immediately NYSE took 1-2 seconds to get accepted, maybe longer. Seemed slower than usual I had TWS 721 hang on me once. No quote updates ... just a "frozen" display. Had to close TWS and...

how realistic the cyberX simulator really is?

not very realistic * if you enter on limits, you will get a fill if a trade happens at the limit price. Not always realistic * same for shorts, except that it's much more difficult to short in the first place. * The simulation approximation is better at small lot sizes, ie with maybe...

IB: slow order entry today...anybody else?

My executions have been good/fair today: * ISLD went active immediately * NYSE probably took 1 to 2 seconds, which is a bit slower than usual.

    Money from others...

I think there are few practical issues: * you can make it into an "investment club". Schwab and others will open Investment Club accounts and it will all be legal * if you want to trade "public" money, I believe that takes registration with the SEC, passing exams etc. Be very careful.

SPY vs. E-Mini S&P 500 Index (ES) Futures

I agree with the ES vs SPY comments above. One more thing to consider: 500 SPY's (as one ES equiv) gives you the ability to scale in and out of positions. For certain strategies this is important.

    Back to the Futures

I have to admit that I've never found the futures predictive in any way I systematically could test. Most people don't realize that SP and ND futures are open outcry, and that the quotes therefore are typed in by a clerk, who observes the action in the pit. Also, there is no guarantee that...

    Unable to change Account options

Thought I'd report a problem I've been having for the last few weeks: Go to "Your Account" and select "Edit Options". Change "use email notification by default". Select "Submit Modifications" button at the bottom On my system, the browser goes to a blank page and stops. No further...

    Looking for a Proprietary Firm...

For some people & trading styles Pro firms are a very good option. For others it's not worth it. Re the PRO firms: you should remember that you effectively are joining an LLC. It's no different than teaming up with other people to found a company (which is something I've done). Founders will...

I don't know. I recommend checking out the web site: http://www.ieeeinsurance.com/ IEEE main site is http://www.ieee.org I suggest that you contact them. I recommended the insurance to a friend of mine, and he found them very accomodating. The main carrier is Cigna PPO. They also...
