Just show me one mechanical technical analysis that has been profitably backtested?

I agree with you on Paris, but I don't function in the cold winters anymore. The more time we spend with the Brazilians the more we enjoy. Their priorities on timekeeping and efficiency needs a tune-up but when it comes to enjoying life they are hard to beat. regards f9 regards f9

Ah what the heck, you can all have this one for free. LONG When the LOD precedes the HOD, buy the LOD and cover at HOD SHORT When HOD precedes LOD, sell HOD and cover at LOD A couple of timing issues relating to CME application. This strategy will leave you flat on saturday and...

    tight stop really work?

Here is a thought for the devotees to this thread. Some Posters are adamant that stops should be outside the 'noise' Does this mean that they wish to have a change of trend take out their stop. regards f9

    tight stop really work?

This is just another of those threads that typify peoples lack of understanding of just what it is that they are trying to achieve. Everything in a Day Trader's strategy must relate to something (price behaviour). True, there are a few absolutes in a traders life such as yesterday's hi/lo...

IN THIS THREAD: IronFist learns (the elusive) PRICE ACTION

Tics do not move price, only contracts can do this. A tic can be one contract or several hundred and a traders choice of his/her bar needs to be thought through very carefully. Anyway, it is just my opinion. regards f9

IN THIS THREAD: IronFist learns (the elusive) PRICE ACTION

At a glance I would say that you are trying to trade a breakout after a pullback. You will be done like dinner with this tactic. You must allow opposing strength to wash out of price before you enter and ideally you need to enter from the opposite side of the consolidation channel to the...

    Emotion FREE Trading

If emotions are ruining your trading, then it might be a good idea to get to the root cause rather than try and 'dance' your way around the problem. The problem could be as simple as 'you do not fully understand what you are doing' and at a subliminal level it provokes a reaction which you...

    CDS'....Putting Lipstick On A Pig ?

What are the compelling reasons against bringing the CDS into the sunlight as a tradeable instruments .... perhaps through the CME. Also, while we are on the subjects. A variation of CDS could be swapped amongst ET members thus creating the illusion of income whilst insuring debt and...

You think it’s a buyer’s market for new cars? You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

Here in Argentina, there are 200,000 employed in the auto industry. The Car companies began layoffs a couple of weeks ago but the gov. stepped in and said you cannot suck out the profits in the good years and hang people out to dry in the bad ones. So here is the plan ... the auto...
