Looking at the daily SPY recently gaps have been getting filled in within a couple days so I'll keep my short overnight.

Today is probably over because we'll just flat line from here. The question is tomorrow's open, we're up against some resistance around 112 and we're above the 200 day.

Sorry to scare you but August is bad,September is worse according to the Stock Traders Almanac. There's always exceptions. Not much going on now, SPY is flat and I'm off work this afternoon so I'm ready for trouble. :)

The SPY is having trouble getting through the 200 day and the UUP is sitting on the 200 day and could bounce off of it. Historically August is a bad month for stocks so I'm thinking (or dreaming :) ) that there's a nice short coming up for the SPY.

I use the ETF UUP as a dollar proxy. Do you think there's anything better? I'd appreciate knowing. Stocks usually have a bad time in the first part of August I just wonder if the dollar will bounce here and take stocks down.

Stocks look like they want to go lower. Jobless claims at 8:30 may be worse than expected.

Anyone have an opinion on the homebuilders? Stocks like BZH, PHM, HOV and DHI. They are pulling back from a big move the other day and I'm thinking of picking some up to put in my IRA for the long term. They're cheap and they could be finally bottoming here. Thanks in advance

The Stock Traders Almanac has studied the end of the month and claim that 401k money comes in at months end (and mid month) and immediately gets put to work. We're at the 200day MA, may stall here, would not be surprised if window dressing has come and gone already.
