First, thank you for taking the time to write here. It means a lot to me. I'm sorry the above quote was not more clear. I do this often. I'm not a very good writer. "As much as I don't want to humble myself and go there....again...I have to" This is another one of the trader's paradox. The...

Humble - to lower in dignity or importance. How is that a hurdle? Operating from the basics such as yourself, is an honest sort of humility IMO. You've come to appreciate/thrive/operate in the basics. Shouldn't I? It seems your discouraging me from stepping back. ================= Last...

Right on. I have been rushing to do, and not spending time learning from what it is I'm actually doing. I've felt the "hurry sickness". I don't like it. Time to stop. Yes. As much as I don't want to humble myself and go there....again...I have to. I have to take those steps back to move...

6 Trades: 5L 1W = -$219 Today was the first day back in over a month or so. Having not reviewed or having not been consistently in SIM, things were very rusty. Technical Analysis: The signals were not objectively identified today. Rules are in place for a reason, they help the trader make...

Update: Been a while since an update. I've been studying and working on The Method, only to discover that I need to continue executing what I have been executing with only minor tweaks. It's amazing how one can lose site of the goal if they get 'paralyzed' by too much TA. Well that happened...

RECAP 26FEB2015: Summary: I spent the past couple weeks attempting to "beef-up" my understanding of Technical Analysis, and to also incorporate a new pattern. Today's events were quite shocking. It was full of "head-on collisions" and doubt. Days like this make me wonder why I chose to...

You didn't fail, but I did have to google some definitions of your chosen vocabulary. :-) For me, this assumption is assumed, after I believe that every trade is random, no matter the context. After I believe that every trade is random, then I can believe that an edge/pattern/signal is...

Mo, To begin, I want to thank you for taking your time to share some of your knowledge in great detail. If my response seems vague and that misunderstood, it's likely because I have. :) Feel free to clarify. On one side of my brain I hear you talk about a belief in complete information about...

Mo, KD and Hero, I've really enjoyed reading your conversation. It's packed full of information that I'm only beginning to grasp. As a newcomer, my contributions might not add anything. i worked 10 hours today, so I will respond in the morning in more detail. Great conversation. -JS

Hey Mo, Good of you to check in. Thanks. Been working hard, and I'll finally be back tomorrow and Friday. I plan to hopefully stay back for a while to do forward tests on SIM. The works been hard but good. Waiting for the good context looks like it's going to take discipline and patience. :-)...

I think they can both exist in harmony. A time and a place for each approach. Quick scalps, longer swings. Obviously, each approach needs it's own set of strict rules/guidelines and statistically proven edge.

Nice to meet you Moniod. Thanks for your comments. I wonder how many people were waiting to see when I'd realize you can't trade every damn signal. Woops. :-) Your suggestions are actually what I'm going to begin working on. I'm also aware of the long/laborious process it will require. I might...

Yea. I still haven't seen it all. But I had this thought yesterday--or day before--why am I making this so damn hard? The Mental Analysis I've been working on has opened my mind to more possibilities. We shall see where it leads. Inside the mind of the market. That'll be intense! Thanks --JS

To follow up with RN said, dig more. Issue/because lists....open honest conversation from an objective perspective etc... A lot of trading fears/inoperative beliefs you have can be De-energized. In the words of another friend, name it, claim it, tame it. :-) And another point one made...

It's not confusing. I've been blind to it. It's probably because my mind is open to it now after working on head stuff. I'm still trying to understand why I was blinded. Either way, I'm glad it's finally become clear. Context seems pretty vital. :-) I have work/studying ahead of me now. I...
