    2015 - Journey continues

5,150,000 SEK Well seemed the post on May 8th was a short term bottom. Rebound rate (% per day) is not that strong compared to previous dips. Currently OMX is ca 1650 and previous high around 1720. Apart from banks the Swedish market is looking rather expensive so switching some long term...

Who Had Bigger Investment Returns in 2014: (women vs men, old vs. young)

Given the large difference in the returns by month of birth I think there is far too much scatter, not enough sample size, to read anything into this data. Of course you can always write a press article on it to fill up the space.....

Position Trading - getting comfortable with size?

That link looks OK. I would go for a little higher annual return 4 to 5% so lower bond rating but its just me. Once you get too low the behaviour becomes like stocks which is not what you want. I am in Sweden and bought these in the past...

Position Trading - getting comfortable with size?

Yeah OK good point. knowing what your doing and having a well thought out plan should give you the confidence to have bigger positions. Just seems like his building his own more expensive version of an ETF thats all.

Position Trading - getting comfortable with size?

If you are uncertain about alpha ability then you probably not doing it so i would just ETFs. Ok you dont want to use leverage, fine but it cuts down your choice of strategies. For bonds check our short term corporates. They are not the same as long term sovreign debt and behave very differently.

Position Trading - getting comfortable with size?

    - Have you really checked that you have genuine stock picking abilities compared to an index? If no then just buy "cheap" index and save the extra hassle of following individual stocks. - You mention not being 100% invested at this time. I can understand that but how much do you know about...

Finally, I decided it: I'll get a loan on my home (mortgage) to invest!

Vix you are so very wrong about me its laughable but unlike you i dont feel need to mention my experience or degrees etc.

Finally, I decided it: I'll get a loan on my home (mortgage) to invest!

VIX - Are you some kind of psychic ? You are making predictions about what he would have done if the markets went down but also rather strangely you also seem to have some assumptions about what I know and do not know about trading and pyschology. You also make predictions about his wife and...

    2015 - Journey continues

4,850,000 SEK Well almost immediately after the above post Swedbank started dropping. Press reported it due to being close to regulatory capital ratio limit which will hinder future growth. Bought ca 1 M SEK of unleveraged stock. Started buying long options this morning after market behaviour...

Finally, I decided it: I'll get a loan on my home (mortgage) to invest!

You cant say its too risky without knowing his logic, plans if lost money, financial situation, working wife etc. April 2009 SP500 was ca 900 and after the big spike down then rebound earlier that year. May just have been dumb luck but that timing with economy starting to improve and after the...

Finally, I decided it: I'll get a loan on my home (mortgage) to invest!

Disagree completely with the above. I did something similar. I could have paid cash for house a few years ago but given the low stock valuations at that time, high yield dividends (5%ish) and low interest rate on mortgage (1% ish) it looked a great opportunity to buy stocks and take mortgage...

    Trading vs. Poker

With a broad index like SP500, FTSE100, DAX etc that has historically been a good strategy. However, many people cannot hold on regardless of drawdown. They sell in panic or took on took much leverage and become forced sellers. Give me lots of money and I can lose it quickly for you buying...

10-Year Bull Market Has Begun; Dow Will "Double For Sure"

Seems this could turn out to be fairly accurate and if anything too conservative on the dow.

17 year old triples his money, keep in mind he has never experienced a correction or bear market....

By luck or skill hes made some good moves so far, borrow money so you have a reasonable size account and go big in the middle of a bull market. If hes lucky he may figure out how to keep some of it whilst the bull market lasts.

    2015 - Journey continues

5,180,000 SEK Another big week for reporting of Swedish companies. Banks doing well so far easily beating estimates. Hope the Greeks or Fed raising rates causes a mini panic and buying opportunity. Otherwise not much to do apart from enjoying the spring weather. Account is very simple right...

    Trading vs. Poker

If you trade long enough and are successful the fees can be multiples of the seed but so what if its a small percent of each transaction? If i turned 1000 usd into 100000 usd would i really give a XXXX that i spent 2000 usd in fees? not me. JK - your on ignore for stupidity.

Is marketsurfer only making us aware of his correct predictions ? I wonder what else has marketsurfer predicted over the years.

    Yukoner's 2015 Psychological Journal

That is so true. I do not purposely daytrade but I have spent a lot of time looking at the screen and spotted a few situations to place daytrades. For a daytrader my win days % would be great but then I only do it perhaps one a month if the ideal setup arises. If not I give it a miss. Maybe its...
