    I messed up....

Todd, A better brokerage firms' system should have given you enough warnings and prevent you from being in such situations in a cash account. For example, Ameritrade's system would have automatically prevented you. Try to convince your broker to see if they can waive you any of the...

    IB Suggestions & Improvements

I would like to have IB implement/fix a few enhancements: ***1) In the sub-menu of the stock quantity section of the TWS' grid and Alerts, where the popped sub menu shows numbers like 100,200,300, etc. (which supposedly helps the users to fill out stocks' quantity quickly), I want IB to add...

    I messed up....

Todd, Who is that broker? How big is your current account? Did you ask your broker if you can now add the margin privilege by signing the margin agreement? Did you also ask if they will let you withdraw money from your current account?

Are settlement rules different for daytraders?

IronFist, If you have at least $2k in your account, you can ask your broker to add margin privileges in your account. Unlike in cash accounts, you can (short-) sell first, and buy (-to-cover) later in margin accounts. In a margin account (without being flagged a "pattern-day-trading"), you...

Direct ECN Order Routing (which brokerage should I choose)

bellman, If you do a search at ET, you will see valuable information regarding, Genesis, IB, TradeStation Securities, RML, etc. I think if you/moderator move(s) this thread to Direct-Access Brokers section, you will hopefully get more responses. RML is not the only one that gives you +/- ECN...

    Rebate Trading - Ticket prices

Since several people asked me about RML's deal with quotetracker, I will try to summarize what I know. -Both QT-Meridan and QT-TSG1.5 do not require any minimum trade-volume commitment. You get $2.95 per trade (+/-ECN fees) from the very first trade. -Both QT-Meridian and QT-TSG1.5...

    Rebate Trading - Ticket prices

WildWally, I think RML's QuoteTracker-Meridian, QuoteTracker-TSG1.5 (and possibly more) platforms' deals can be from the very first trade with absolutely no minimum trading commitment. Just call them and ask for it. You can also go to Quote Tracker's web site and then go to RML's link to see...

    Possible Etrade Fraud

alanm, I think you should try to go to the bank's secure web site directly. Also try not to save your password. In addition, if possible, clean up your track and close the browser once you are done. "Log out" is better than "time out". Therefore, we should also try not to leave the bank...

    Rebate Trading - Ticket prices

You may also try RML-QT or RML-TSG1.5 deal. They seem to have $2.95 per trade commissions +/- ECN rebates.

Newbie Question on an Order - Stop/Limit

By the way, in the nominal margin account, Etrade doesn't even offer bracketed orders (i.e., one for the profit target and another one to stop-loss with "one cancels other").

Newbie Question on an Order - Stop/Limit

Stop (i.e., the order becomes a market order at the stop activation price) , stop-limit (i.e., the order becomes a limit order at the user defined at the stop activation price) and bracketed orders are 3 different type of orders. Contact your broker to find out how they are triggered.
