I only comprehended about a third of this thread but I enjoyed it.

    Hedging the wheel

Can you elaborate on this? It sounds like a sort of "would you rather be right or happy?" which is what my narcissist mother says to me to try and agree with her when she is wrong. Whenever I hear this my bs detector screams. I do not understand how this is applicable in trading. How can you...

    Hedging the wheel

Am I correct in figuring this would be profitable unless price closed between the two strikes, or dropped widely enough so that your cost of the call + funds from two calls sold didn't counter the loss?

    Are NANOS options available yet?

    So they're not on thinkorswim?

    Are NANOS options available yet?

I read about these and I have the stock on thinkorswim but there are no options. Have I done it suboptimally?

might it ever happen where buying deep OTM calls will make you more money than ATM or ITM?

Can you explain how being bullish is selling calls? Let's say I have 1,000 shares. Ok, so I sell 10 calls and then use the money to buy puts. This guards me if the price goes down, BUT limits my upside and I forfeit the cash from the calls if price goes up. Recall, you said this was bullish.

might it ever happen where buying deep OTM calls will make you more money than ATM or ITM?

Like, I can advance the day on the web version. I was going by the expiration date. But even tomorrow, which I believe is the highest possible value, it was worth less than the $0.50

might it ever happen where buying deep OTM calls will make you more money than ATM or ITM?

I took an hour to run the numbers on thinkorswim to see which way I would make the most money if price goes to 5 or 6 or beyond. $0.50 options were the choice. What can I do to get better numbers, be asue it seems from this thread that is wrong.

might it ever happen where buying deep OTM calls will make you more money than ATM or ITM?

So, I am using ToS. Is their computation algorithm mistaken?

might it ever happen where buying deep OTM calls will make you more money than ATM or ITM?

Let's use SNDL again. Say you're starting today. If you think price will get to ONE DOLLAR, would it be better to: 1) buy $1000 worth of shares today 2) buy $1,000 worth of $0.50 24 Jan calls Let's see Value is $.43. Your $1000 gets you 2325 shares. If this makes your price target you...

might it ever happen where buying deep OTM calls will make you more money than ATM or ITM?

Yeah, I think in invested dollars. I want to spend the least and make the most. Can you detail this? Collaring a stock? Say I have a big SNDL position. I do. I'm very bullish. I am. Why would I invest premium and buy puts if I'm bullish?

might it ever happen where buying deep OTM calls will make you more money than ATM or ITM?

Maybe my ToS calculations were off. I performed the math with SNDL by buying an equal dollar amount of stock, ITM ($0.50) calls, and $5 calls or something. Past I think $6, the ITM calls were worth the most. I could have to do it again. So you're saying a bunch of like $6 January 24 calls...

might it ever happen where buying deep OTM calls will make you more money than ATM or ITM?

Well, my question was about buying calls when you are bullish. Stock tanks is not part of the equation.

might it ever happen where buying deep OTM calls will make you more money than ATM or ITM?

I'm focused on deep OTM calls vs ITM calls vs. stock outright for far dated expirys. Based on my calculations, ITM calls are worth the most, potentially, past a certain price, in each circumstance. Said separately, there is a price after which price rises beyond it that ITM calls will be worth...

might it ever happen where buying deep OTM calls will make you more money than ATM or ITM?

Don't little rallies not do much for deep OTMs? Or are you saying a small boost in price will make an OTM option increase but NOT an ITM option? Like if price is $4, and you have a $20 call, if price rallies to $5 probably your call won't change much. But the $4 call will?
