Canadian Politics - Beware America you never want to be socialists

I happen to be a health care professional, who has worked in the US. I left as I was disgusted with what I saw. The health statistics clearly indicate that many measures of public health are among those of developing countries. One incident where they ?sutured a cut or some such episode...

    Great Depression price of Gold?

Agreed....problem is "the masses" still think a big bull market lies ahead...only when everyone is on board will we, perhaps, begin to come out of it. don't see this for a long time coming. also, gold is head way, way down. $650 to $600 is my estimation.

CAnadian tarsands screwed with sub $50 oil?

i can see a 70c. dollar. government unrest, plunging commodity prices...which will only get worse. recently this week the us markets rallied, but tsx didn't. don't see any upside til after jan. when government/parliament reconvenes. we presently, have no plan to deal with the recession.

well, i happen to be cdn and, yes, i do see both the positives and negatives in both countries..... if you think socialism sucks, then go have your heart attack in the us. then, perhaps you will see how badly socialism sucks. crime rates in the us have been very high among g8...

Hey, i'm cdn and lived in alta. to-day, with the newer technology, it is cheaper to extract this oil....china in particular is zeroing in on this technology as they will be short oil in a few years. I do think our $ will continue down tho' which is a blessing for us....in many ways, but I've...

Traders who still live with their mother.

well, if you are profitable, and can pay for your upkeep, tell her you will leave if she cannot support you psychologically...very few people outside of fellow traders really understand...which is why this board is so important. if you cannot pay for your upkeep, perhaps its time to get a...

Strong market bounce into Spring 2009 coming within 2 weeks

Agree with OP that we have not seen the end of another decline....we may retest the last low ?Nov 17. WD Gann stated that January is the month to watch re changes in trend. Sounds highly likely we rally in January....there is now tax loss selling to content with. Up here in Canada, we have...

    the blame game

perhaps this will not be a well received post but here it is: i am struck by the amount of blame we give to others, (now, I am not any happier than the rest of you that many ex's got millions, have zero accountability, and hurt others). However, at some point, I also think there is a...

SuperGenius Jimmy Rogers - Bigger, Longer, Uncut!

thanks for sharing the videos. he is an engaging, charmer. he tends to say the same thing over and over again, i have noticed. but i did like a few of his "newer" comments. The interviewer, I agree, was actually intelligent and articulate....not like the usual cnbc airheads.:D :D :D

    rumour leading to yesterday's selloff

Apparently, yesterday was the last day that the hedge funds could liquidate stocks for this year...and have money for redemptions. It just seemed that the selloff was way overdone.

    Keynsian economics is dead

Hey wait a minute! Isn't that what Thatcher used to break the unions and set Britain on the road to wealth? also, Reagan was a fan of this school...?Meyes not sure the theorists' name. In a nutshell, "survivor of the fittest"....Reagan brought the airline pilots to their knees....now I'm...

VIDEO: Fox Business: Celente Predicts Revolution, Food Riots, Tax Rebellions By 2012

many years ago, i was ranting about the social programmes here in Canada, and spoke with a brilliant woman. suffice it to say, "when people have nothing they resort to crime"....i am sickened by "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous"....not that they have money, but how they flaunt it...

If 1929, and 2000's bear market can go 79 and 80 percent below the highs cant we go

To me, Robert Pretcher makes the most amount of sense right now. For a long period of time I disliked his message as I saw him as negative. However, he is best guide to this crash that I have yet seen. Essentially, he sees this as a 1929 style depression, with us being in year 1930. Lots...
