    Equities vs. Futures

it's safer than stocks in most cases, huge 50% gap downs or halts are simply not possible. on the other hand, it's much more competitive and you'll almost have to relearn how to trade as your system might not work as well, if at all.

Anyone willing to backtest for a small fee or free ?

additions: Intraday based, day trading style systems, prefer cash SPX, NDX, and e-minis. Strategies are very simple in my opinion and maybe you'll pick up something you can use in your own trading. Anyone ?

    Calling a Trend Day early

If the prior day was a narrow range, inside day or a 5 tick doji.. you have a very favorable percentage change of some sort of followup trend day -- or at least, open and close at relative extremes.

    Stay with Scottrade?

If you do more than 1000 shares at a time, and all in - all out every time with no exceptions... then stay with Scottrade or a sub par equivalent. This means you will always get filled on 1000+ shares on your limit orders in, and presumable get out on the market for exits. If you want the...

When has a stock run out of steam?

play around with a quick moving average, when it makes sort of a double top formation .. it should break under, go back above and then below. In a continued move, it should break under, go above and then push ahead.
