    What was Elliot thinking (with)?/

Spitzer should blame his wife. Afterall he went after Wall st because they took advantage of the un-knowing masses and scammed them out of their money. It appears his wife was taking advantage of him, because he did not know that by her not validating his feelings, she was actually trying...

What if a trade doesn't immediately move in your favor?

Is your system completely automated? I am not at your level because I cannot figure out a way to trade with absolutely zero risk. How is that even possible?

What if a trade doesn't immediately move in your favor?

The only way I ever know anything for sure, is after the fact. In trading you never know anything "for sure".

What if a trade doesn't immediately move in your favor?

I use a stop and a time stop. The time stop sometimes varies depending on the market and the reason I took the trade. If I am looking for a quick move, short time stop. The hard stop also needs to give the trade some room to breathe. I used to place them too close and watch them get hit...

It has finally clicked.....as a trader

Very good advice. I think you never figure it all out, sometimes you just figure out how to pull out the easy money. Then it changes a little and you figure out how to adjust. Which is good, because it gets pretty boring sometimes and you need some kind of challenge to keep yourself motivated.

Banks urged to give underwater homeowners money...

Maybe he is saying "you guys screwed the pooch by giving these people loans in the first place, so now try to help them out before they foreclose" I went in for a mortgage a few years ago and I had a number in my head of what i wanted to spend. I wanted to get pre-approved to make the buying...

    Job Offer Negotiations

don't use 70k, use 69,800 or 70,300. It gives the impression of a well thought out number and carries more weight. But it only works for the first number you throw out. if they say 60, then you say 70,300, they counter with 65, you look like a whacko if you come back with 68,450. have a...

1 in 100 U.S. Adults Behind Bars, New Study Says

I have always heard that too. The justification is that every drug addict tried pot before he tried the other drugs, so therefore pot is a serious issue and leads to other drugs. My only concern is that everyone I have ever know that did drugs said that pot was not the first thing they...

I have never heard that quote, but I do live by its meaning. If I don't like a position for whatever reason, I get out.

Does any trader have Tinnitus or any other ailment

I never even thought about lyme disease. that runs rampant in this part of NJ. One of my dogs was just diagnosed with it. She started limping really bad, took her to the vet, lyme disease. With all my hunting, fishing and hiking, I should get tested. My brother was showing symptoms and he...

Foreigners are to blame for the US mess

No. As Americans we will genetically modify lettuce to grow taller so we do not have to bend over to harvest it. Or we will get the great John Deere company to make a 500 horsepower, smog and co2 emitting monstrosity to harvest our lettuce easily and quickly. Any time we have to do...

Does any trader have Tinnitus or any other ailment

Yes. Have had it for years. never thought it was trading related. Do you think it is? Why? ps: I never really thought it was too much of a problem because it helped drown out the voices in my head.

Foreigners are to blame for the US mess

Texas National Guard to invade NJ??? Why would you want that? Texas has way less Americans living there than NJ. We should rename in Texico. NJ is only bad in a few places, most of them touch the NJ Turnpike.

Is trading that hard? Or are people that stupid?

To me "the market is always right" means that if I go with the flow of the market then I am right and will make money. If I go against the markets flow I lose money and I am wrong. More importantly if a person is not making money or is losing money, then that person is wrong. We cannot...

    Boone Pickens for President!

Everyone knows that if any politician ever shows signs of greatness or wisdom, big business will hire him instantly. Whats left in the field of politics are all the guys that can't get hired by big business. Makes you feel all "warm and fuzzy" knowing that while our country is not run by...

    Gladiators, Swords, Rolls, and You

Its really not that deep a post that I made that it requires so much thought. Its just a simple fact in my mind that helps me trade profitably. To me, trading is not a battle because I am very competitive and I would have to win that battle at any cost and every time I fought the battle...

    Gladiators, Swords, Rolls, and You

I agree with your post. The war and battle analogies are there to make rookies think trading is a fight they must overcome and to make traders think that trading is much harder than it really is. I was told to think of trading as an auction. The price goes up until nobody will buy anymore...

    Looking for a trader...

Yes, of course I trade. And do very well at it. I assume you did not catch the humor in my post??? "jaronimo" is a great handle, it turns out I am significantly more profitable on the short side.

Can someone help me to use this?

I have yet to find a book that is the "end all, be all" of trading, or any other subject for that matter. You have to take bits and pieces from each book. Every book has value. Sometimes it tells you what to do, sometimes you realize what not to do. I read a lot, but I do it in a different...
