honestly I trade only stocks, I know a little bit of futures, I pay attention to it only at the beginning of the day, other than that, I don't trade it everyday... I watch NBR almost everyday, and at the end of the show, they show where the SP500 futures is closed for a particular day...

I dont know what the implication is, usually I see the two indexes lock in step each others pretty close, but not lately

I have an account with Ameritrade. I remember I used to be able to trade stocks many times during a day without any restriction (i.e. having to wait for 3 to 4 days for the trade to be settled). Now I can trade only once in 3 to 4 days because I'm told by the broker I have to wait for 3 to 4...

that lets you buy shares on installment and without imposing margin rules. As you know, those retail houses like E*trade, Ameritrade, TD Waterhouse, Scott trade,... impose margin rules on your account like $25K limit, and if stock market drops to certain level, one can't maintain the margin...

my suggestion is take some time off to travel the world ie the third world countries that will put you in the right perspective, I hope . or even better pay a visit to your local homeless shelter !
