This oil spike is messing up my calls. Not only my euro call is messed up, I was very close to calling a bottom on 10 years T-note. they can trade with probability with 30 % if they have a risk reward of minimum 1:2. How much volume those traders account for? 1/100000? Also I can argue some of them take your opposite side, and some of them take your side. So the net effect is negligible。

Study says Daytrading for a living is virtually impossible.

Of course risk is related to the portion of capital. If risk is only related to opportunity, then the one risking $1000 and the one risking $100000(assuming they both have 100000 capital and take the same opportunity) are taking same amount of risk.

No, taking risk is not that you put more money so you take more risk. It is the portion of your total capital you put at risk that counts. A pro have 10 million capital and he risk 1 million. A retail has 100 K and he risk 50 K. The pro risk significant more money ,but has taken significant...

Study says Daytrading for a living is virtually impossible.

"Is that because there are more retail traders?" No, although there are more retail traders, but pro traders have advantage in accessing better and faster information and better trading equipment, that will more than offset it. It is because pro traders are not allowed to take big risk, and...

The worst retail traders are a lot worse than the worst pro traders. The best retail traders are a lot better than the best pro traders.

Warren Buffet didn't think he take huge risk. He believe he hold something that have higher value than public realize. Higher reward doesn't need to come with higher risk. If you find something that no other people find, then you can get high reward on low risk.

One who only risk 1% on trades, because his edge is too small. Most traders agree that risk 1% is correct because most traders' edge is too small, if they do have.
