Guys, this board is not about patriotism, freedom or censorship. You can argue that Baron is running his business wrong, but that's another matter. We are sadly mistaken if we believe that we have a right to post whatever we want on his forum, including spamming the same message on 5 lists like...

If terrorists did things that made sense they wouldn't ram planes into buildings or strap bombs around their belts and walk into crowded public areas.

    Gaps es/nq 16:00 or 16:15 hours?

Pay attention to 16:15 as that is the last price tick that is applicable to the minis. There is a settlement price which is usually slightly different from the last tick. The settlement price is actually the official "close" for the day. I believe the settlement price is calculated as an average...

ArchAngel, Have you got a url relating to how the Globex system works in relation to limit/market/stop orders (relating to the Globex system transforming market orders)? I searched twice on CME's site and couldn't find anything relating to this particular issue.

Good one! Oh the AGONY! I wondered how long it would take someone to point that one out. Are we having fun yet? By the way my spelling bee hopes went down the tubes in 4th grade when I misspelled "FREIGHT". I before E except after C was my Waterloo.

Take Rigel's estimate on damage from a suitcase bomb, mine is obviously low. In all of this the human loss is hardest to replace. How many city blocks did the 9/11 attack on the twin towers "destroy" or make unusable?

    Unimaginable

I would suspect that since 9/11 if any major corporation (including exchanges) don't have contingency plans, they are scrambling to do so (offsite functional offices and computer systems). A nuclear bomb would probably disrupt activity in a wide area for much longer than 9/11. A dirty nuclear...

    IB trading platform (E-Minis)

Just another thought, since the only native order type that GLOBEX actually supports is LIMIT, market orders would have to be simulated by IB. I *think* I recall when IB started up as a retail brokerage, the only type of order it accepted was limit. Market orders were added later due to public...

I just took it off the IB web site: http://www.interactivebrokers.com/html/tws/market_orders.html for general info and: http://www.interactivebrokers.com/html/tws/futures_simulation.html for specific info related to futures market simulation (the quote I pasted in a previous post)...

I've done that myself many times, think one thing and say/do the other. I guess with .003 x 1132.5 we get 3.25 as the +/-.

    IB trading platform (E-Minis)

I agree, I think you've got the direction backwards. Putting in a limit buy order at 1090 and getting filled at 1090 while the market is trading at 1100 would be like printing money. If any of you know of a market like this let me know! With a limit buy at 1090 you will get filled no worse than...

Actually Hitman's post said "Volume Each Way" so you would double the shares, bringing the cost per share to about 1.3 cents.

You probably meant something like an entry price of 1110 instead of 1090 which would be below the market and not filled as a market order. I believe IB uses 2%, so in the above example a market order would be converted to 1100 x 1.02 = a limit order to buy @ 1122 (or better).

A nickle a car. I think I recall their prior year's hedging activity netted them about 74 Mil (an exceptional year), so you do the math on how many cars they traded. As a % of net profit that 74 mil was a small %, but a very profitable percentage wise for the grain division. You have to take...
