suggestion: Mutual Fund partner for IB IRAs

Stupid question for def (or anyone): I thought that margin was not allowed in tax-deffered accounts and that was the reason for the inability to go short. If this is true, how can one trade futures in IB's IRAs since futures trading requires margin? Please set me straight, I've just rolled...

    Stock/Market Selection

has a pretty decent screener. You can scan for the recent chart action of your choice, as well as just about any indicator value that you could think of. I'm pretty sure you need to be a member to use the advanced functions. Uni

    Trading Styles for ES

For me, a scalp is 1-2 points. RR must be at least 2:1. I get about 2 or 3 good setups per day, sometimes none. Size is the only way to make this one pay off. BTW, this is one of those rare, enjoyable threads around here. Too bad it's constantly sullied by one heckler. Oh well, I guess...

    Trading Styles for ES

Which is silly because style is a personal thang. Mine is plain vanilla hit 'n run scalping off retracements and reversals with respect to pivots and horizontal s/r. Uni

    Becoming Gordon Gekko

You started it. What did you expect? I suspect you do this to get your feelings validated by like-minded people. If so, that just proves that you're not psychologically fit for trading. Your actions are akin to trolling for tips. Good luck. You're going to need it because you don't have...

    Becoming Gordon Gekko

I know this horse has been beaten to an unrecognizable bloody pulp on the side of the road waiting to be picked up by the local tallow company, but, GG, dude, you need to get your head right. You may have the know-how, but you're way off on the psychological part. There, I've said it. Thank...

Loosing from the initial capital vs. loosing from made profits?

Pick up a copy of "Why Smart People Make Big Money Mistakes (and How to Correct Them)" by Belsky & Gilovich. It explains what everyone here is trying to explain.

    ES NQ Execution Cost

I stand corrected. I forgot that it's usually the datafeed provider that levys those fees. Also, not to be a cheerleader, but I've had nothing but great executions with IB. No complaints here.

    ES NQ Execution Cost

That depends on your broker. IB charges $2.40/contract each way (any order type) plus exchange fees.

    Chronicles of an Idiot

I love Trader Vic too, but his books are painful to read because he just can't write (or he has a crappy editor). There's an interesting interview with him in the latest S&C. Sorry to get off topic, I'm really enjoying this thread. It's nice to read maturely-written posts for a change.:)

    closing my trading account today

I'm a long-time lurker, first-time poster. This thread really got my attention. GG, you stated that you didn't want any help or sympathy so I will not offer any. I have a question for you, however: To what do you attribute your current dire situation? I don't know you, nor have I read any...
