Thanks for the suggestion! This doesn't do it for my issue, unfortunately.

    Missing data in IBKR charts?

Same here. The daily candles between mid 2019 and April 2020 for stocks are just missing, like the crash never happened, regardless of the market. The weekly candles look alright. It's only been happening lately.

More than 390 orders a day (even canceled) will put you in the professional non-priority high-frequency customer category.

NEW NEW NEW...Whats going on with latest update from IB?

Maybe they'll get rid of it in the next update. They added a cute worldwide news feature with a map overview of the markets, that's why it keeps saying "New!".

I tested the ping on cable and wifi and the difference was 1ms. I don't do HFT, so wifi it is.

how to save commission by setting up own broker

Merill doesn't take PFOF, but they route to BofA Securities not to lit exchanges, so they are their own market maker, they pay themselves as they are part of BofA. Fidelity routes most trades to market markers such as Citadel and Virtu even if they don't take payment for that.

    Interesting InteractiveBrokers Stats

Taking into account the 300% initial margin requirement at IBKR for shorting the memes vs 100% initial for long, one could assume that the shorters are better capitalized.

    scalping GME

I can't get myself to trade these meme stocks neither long nor short. I always worry I'll find myself at the start of a heavy rip against my position right after entering a trade. Kudos for having the prowess to enter the battlefield with these.

GME up over 100%.... what is going on now?

I just checked and for shorting GME, IB requires 300% initial margin with 80% maintenance, and they seem to have more than 1mil shares available. The fee sits at about 1%. Did they impose some kind of restrictions yesterday?

IBKR disabled cash purchases of GME and AMC

Fidelity is also the biggest owner of GME (FMR LLC with about 9.5 mil shares), but I guess vested interest only matters when one sees it in the enemy.

    Open sourcing is stoopid

Also, OpenAI has learned code from GitHub and can now create scripts based on natural language input. I think this will curate the programming industry or force the bottom tier to improve. This has been happening with photography, too, with phones capable of better and better snapshots.

IBUK to IBIE - what's going on?

They issue an email stating the expected day of the actual transition, mentioning it would take 15-20 minutes and it would be performed after market close. Your account is unreachable at all during that short window of time. They said it would be done on the 5th of January, but they actually did...

IBUK to IBIE - what's going on?

IB UK margin requirements were governed by Reg-T. Migrated margin accounts to the new entities will no longer be subject to Reg-T and will be converted to some sort of risk-based portfolio margin, hence the variation in minimum requirement. I received 50% more buying power after the transition...

IB shooting itself in the foot with this ad XD

IB were ruffled a few feathers (about $26 million) by FINRA in August 2020 when they were found to have failed to maintain an adequate anti-money laundering (AML) program, so one can imagine their compliance department has been walking on eggshells since then.
