    IB new forex spreads

Ticker on Globex is EUR (for the EUR.USD), it always has a 1 tick spread and a good liquidity and huge volume (about 120.000 contracts per day). I'm right now, writing a document which has 2 chapters dedicated to the comparison between FX-Cash and FX-Futures trading. I hope to release this...

Question on Bracket Trader and Button Trader ??

Front-ends aren't build to improve execution-speed (there is no difference), but to offer a better user-interface: a visible interface which gives you a faster understanding of what the market is doing, or a better manual-interface to react faster, or advanced order-management features (which...

    IB new forex spreads

Really good to hear that IB is improving the Forex-offerings, and features. (like the P&L problem and contacts-trading, both issues already solved when you use ButtonTrader as front-end, but still good when IB will solves it as well in the future). Adding new Currencies and crosses is good...

IB retail pit access or not ???

I just saw in Account-Management that you already can subscribe to the Quotes: CBOT-Floor $55 CME-Floor $35 NYBOT-Floor $75 NYMEX-Floor $40 (I have not tried it yet {a bit expensive for just checking how it works}). Maybe someone else has ?

    not sure about FOREX

Just take a broker (like IB) who offers you both: Forex-spot, and FX-Futures (Globex and EUREXUS), then you can select the instrument that fits you most.

Retail Forex: A dirty little secret?

Interesting....It's possible because the MM's on the ECN may not trade against eachother (only quote and trade when the real-clients take their offers). So when one MM has a Bid on price-x and on the same time another MM has an Ask on price-x...you will see a zero-spread (and can trade it).

Retail Forex: A dirty little secret?

What do you mean? is Bid the SAME as the Ask? (that is possible on an ECN but unlikely to stay for long)..

Retail Forex: A dirty little secret?

No, no...you need (at least) $2000 to open an account, and can trade it as low as about $500 (which is the Margin for a $25.000 trade).

Retail Forex: A dirty little secret?

IB has no "mini's"....It has a minimum Order-level which is about $25.000, above that you can trade any amount until the Max Order-Level....so you can enter a trade for $26.789 if you want.

Retail Forex: A dirty little secret?

Correct! I only know who the MMs are on IB-ECN, I have no knowledge about "Hotspot, CoesFX, MBtrading, lava, currenex". If someone has that info: please tell..

Great: the more the better...and then one time in future: connect all together :)

Retail Forex: A dirty little secret?

Yep, I know 3: Hotspot, CoesFX and MBtrading (although the last one I only saw today, with the link in a previous post).....Probably more will come when we traders "ask" for a fair way to trade Forex (through an ECN-like model).

Retail Forex: A dirty little secret?

Yes you can read the posts of jimrockford ("fighter" against bucketshop-fraud). Also this post of Steve-IB gives a good explanation: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=60032&perpage=6&pagenumber=4

Retail Forex: A dirty little secret?

Yep it is the way Steve_IB explained very well. And to answer your question about other instruments: All normal markets work that way (Futures, IB-Forex, Stocks, Options, warrants, Bonds)...When you want to Buy, you can JOIN the Bid in the row (the book) and wait your turn, or you can enter...

Then I advise you to contact IB, if you have the TWS-logs (and audit trail), so they can look at it and solve.

    IB new forex spreads

Yes it addresses both issues. First, it’s a bit odd that two posters have a walk-through a Stop....Most of the time it is a StopLimit and then it is in 99% of all cases due to a traders-mistake of setting the Limit-price to tight to the Stop-price (which should be wider than the Spread...

    IB new forex spreads

With both issues I can help you (solve it) ...if you want.

This is how I am researching to pick a Forex Broker

IB (nor any other Forex-data-provider) cannot provide traded-volume because that's simply not available in the Forex-market. You can only get Bid/Ask-quantities (and with the ECN-forex versions (like IB) you can get the Book (marketDepth) as well). When you want to have some market-insight in...

    IB or Oanda or ????

IDP ?...that's a new abbreviation for me..you mean IB's IDEALPRO? I have no concern at all!...It just a calculation of the best (most profitable) instrument for the Forex-pair. When You take into account the spreads in a specific IdealPro-pair and the spread in FX-futures, then for scalping...
