Since IB seems to be getting its time from the PC's system clock, , i need to have my system clock perfectly synchronized at all times with the "NASDAQ exchange time"... whats the best way to do this?

Theoretically if you are short a stock, you could be subject to a "buy-in" at any point in time..thats when the lender wants his stock back, and so you would be forced to liquidate your position...i dont know how often this happens in real life

Calip, how have you verified that the IB 1-min backfill data is accurate for futures? Did you do it just by visual inspection or did you compare it to another backfill source? Please elaborate..it would be great to know for sure that futures at least is accurate

Fix SPY 1-minute backfill data (and probably other stock backfill data too), so that there arent that many out-of-market erroneous spikes rendering the data almost useless

i have been looking at the SPY backfill data (1-minute) and agree that the quality is really poor...lots of out-of-market spikes renders the data almost useless..i dont know why its like that

ur basically putting a monthly target but no "monthly stop", unlimited loss potential, but limited gain potential

r u going to set a monthly target of $5K and leave an openended potential to lose during that month..suppose you make 10K one month, then lose 10K next month, if u dont put any target youre breakeven over 2 months, but if you put target, well, ur down 5K over 2 months
