OMFG! I made some decent money this morning being short then decided to cut out to catch my son's school awards program and just got back to my computer. What a bad day to have an awards program, I can't believe how much my son just cost me! Oh well, I'm out until Tuesday, have a good weekend!

I was looking to go short at 1526.75 but missed by 1 tick. Edit: apparently Oscar nailed it going short at 1526.50

I believe it is 2am EST to 4pm EST. I trades somewhat lightly from 2am to 3am then the volume kicks in until late morning. Just pull up a volume chart and you will see.

    Iron Condor

Whether this trade is considered good or bad depends on your outlook for Ford. You are betting that Ford will be between $6.86 and $11.15 in September (not a bet I would take give the risk/reward). I personally don't like doing spreads that far out. I tend to stick to spreading indexes...

    FESX commission

Try Open E Cry, I think I paid something like $2.00 RT. I'll have to find a statement to confirm. Edit: I think there are clearing fees on top of that pushing the total to something over $3 RT but everything is negotiable.

    Nite Session U.S. Index Futures

I noticed that FESX did that quite a bit. A good move followed by lots of chop, chop, chop in a fairly tight range. If you can catch a ride before the big move you can set your stops and just wait it out.

I'm familiar with pivot values and how they are calculated but how do you come up with the pivot times?

That dip in NQ sure helped me out :D. Still putting it in the penalty box for a while though. Missed an ES trade while I was getting myself out the damn NQ trade. Oh well, the ES trades are like buses, if you miss one another one will come along.

Hire "traders" to work for you?

I wouldn't advocate hiring illegal aliens. I would hire someone in India for the market wage if they could do the job, I've heard they do some great work for $5-$15 an hour. Actually, I would subcontract work to someone in India, not hire them. If the job I needed done was worth paying $20 an...

I'm putting NQ in the penalty box . No more trades there for a while. Will stick with ES, YM and ER for the time being. No ES trades yet today.

    Nite Session U.S. Index Futures

I think you will like FESX much more than any of the US instruments overnite. I like FESX, I just don't like the hours very much.

Hire "traders" to work for you?

Trust me, people that get paid $7 /hr generally aren't worth paying any more than that. You get paid what you are worth, not what you think you are entitled to.

Always double check how many contracts you are buying/selling before you hit the confirmation button!!! I was just on the phone with someone and placed 2 trades without double checking the quantity of contracts, I put on WAY WAY WAY too many by fat fingering my order. I got very lucky and...

I'm with you, today I let my losers run and cut my winners short. If I would have followed my plan it would have been a big day by lunch time but instead I'm licking my wounds. MUST FOLLOW MY TRADING PLAN. Ok, now back to your regular programming.
