Looking For a Prop Trading Firm

I don't think Schonfeld would have held onto a trader who is gross negative. He has a very strong firm.. Would he risk his reputation to stiff traders?

Looking For a Prop Trading Firm

What are your net revenues? Positive? If you had negative gross, i.e. commission free, then you should get another job. No economically sane person would back a trader, including self backed, if he can't even make money gross over time.

Don your number 3 on your check list talks about month end. Shouldn't the requirements be the same at any time during the year, month, day, minute even? Are the rules any different right NOW for instance than at months end?

POLL: What is your uncle point?

You say you risk the same on everytrade? Why? When you are in a losing streak you should cut back and when winning push the envelope. Right?

Any info on Generic Trading or Carlin?

I heard a rumor that the principals of the firm were looking to leave and sell the business. If you get your deal in writing, they will honor it. They clear SLK which is a good thing. In any interview, be yourself. Eventually you'll have to anyway.

    san diego firms shutting down??

OnSite offices were franchised. Bright and Echo aren't to my knowledge. This is a big difference in consistency and professionalism. Look where they (OnSite) are...outta here! Firms that take the risk of massive lease obligations and other expenses rather than franshise them to third party...

Should I work for Generic Trading of Phila. ?

I think it is easier to raise expectations than to lower them. If a trader learns in this environment, he can learn to push the envelope. In this market he is learning the most important thing for a trader, PROTECT YOUR FLANK.

    background of trader

Are you saying that he should just use the other firm to learn and take his initial risk and then have no loyalty or thanks and leave for the best deal. Seems to me a good trade-off to sign a contract in exchange for teaching and risk adjustment. If it was just "training" that he had to pay...

Should I work for Generic Trading of Phila. ?

Disagree that he is lucky not to start in this evironment. IF, IF, IF he can learn in this market he should have a long successful career ahead of him. All the traders that thought they were traders who started in 98, 99 are out of business now. He is looking for a career, then he should take...

60% with the 50k capital seems reasonable. Not many firm's backing traders these days. Does the trader need to sign a contract obligating him for a minimal amount of time?

    Anybody making any real $$$???

Thank you for finally putting it in perspective. This is a good trading market. The markets of the late 90's are once in a lifetime markets. This is the type of market traders have made money in for 100's of years. An real trader will be profitable in this market. The wannabe's need to go...

    New new member title???

Granted, Don takes heat. More than he deserves. I am amazed and thankful he takes it day in and day out. I don't presume to ask him not to post. The system is designed so that he has incentive (or no disincentive) to post. What we will never know is how many posts were altered or not...
