Second account blown and conditioned to lose

$3,500? I thought this would involve at least a few hundred thousand if not more. The loses can easily be recovered with a part time job or as a tax write off. Plenty of traders have taken losses that they would be lucky to ever back fill in their life time. Its how we come back from loses...

a theory about good vs. bad traders

Agreed - the louder they are in trying to convince others how good/rich/successful they are, the more likely they are to be the opposite. “During the 10 years I traded for George Soros, I never heard him speak about a winning trade. To hear him talk, you’d think he had nothing but losers...

How much does external stress reduce discretionary trading profits?

From my experience its a lot more likely my trading goes well when my life is in good order , I am having some fun, & content/grateful for where I am at. Its important to have a life outside of trading or you will become a shut in PnL slave.

Please guys, GET IN THE MARKET SOON

The bear mkt rallies we have had are the typical size historically. Since 2000 the avg bear mkt rally >10% is 22.7%. So far it looks like another classic bear rally - be careful here. NDX bear rallies >10% since the 2022 top.

How long can you safely hold 3x leveraged etf?

Negative drag goes increases with leverage when your position is not trending strongly. A gain of X% followed by an equivalent loss of X% (or a loss then a gain), always result in a net loss. With more leverage the drag grows as the square of the leverage. In this example leverage of 1.5-2%...

Should you or should you not chase?

My trading goes best when I anticipate moves well in advance & have placed a bracketed order. This keeps my impulses in check & makes my trading more like chess, thinking ahead for the next moves & what pieces to use (size). I have a thesis for all trades & a plan for the session. This gives...

    How do you lose trades?

The vast majority of retail traders add to losers sine its more comfortable. Novices lean into losers - pros lean into winners. A trader makes their own fate- not the market.

    How do you lose trades?

#1 Add onto a winner on the way up when the trend is strong. Avg into a loser on a trend day & get pulverized, this is doing that in reverse. #2 Trade around a core winning position: You take profits along the way & add back on at key levels where the trend is more likely to resume. Again...

    How do you lose trades?

I don't have that problem any more. I am taking profits along the way & my runner position has a stop at break-even or better. I may add on more size to winners, this way the profit can more than double without risking losing on the trade.

    How do you lose trades?

Why screw around with always being so close to the entry, in constant flight/fight mode, & always throwing new risk into the mkt. This is my ON short, RR=18:1. Once I have a profit running I sleep, the mkt does the heavy lifting for me. Point being, riding larger moves than scalps makes for a...
