The market value could be: The mid between the bid/ask The ask Or last sale The broker uses it to show you the unrealized gain or loss. When it comes to selling-to-close you are most likely stuck with the bid, which could be NA. :)

Take a look at the the underlying. Determine the future move of the underlying. Take a look at the options - strikes, expiry, bid/ask. Build a winning option trade around the info you have. Being "Penny Wise Pound Foolish" with the bid/ask might cost you in the long run if the order...

Depends on your risk tolerance. No ........... The OTM options will be cheaper. The trade will be for some sort of credit. Maximum loss if an OTM option becomes ITM. Post the exact trade you have in mind with real quotes. :)

Do you mean when they come up with some theoretical "Fair Value" for the options which just happens to be lower than the ask or higher than the bid? Yes ...... It is a waste of time. :)

The progression of this thread from post #1 to post #2 was leading to equity options in a non-usa market. My advise in post #3 is to avoid equity options in a non-usa market due to low volume. I stand by that advise. :)

Why would anyone trade equity options in a non-usa market? Volume is always very low. I don't think anybody on ET trades equity options in a non-usa market. :)

tradelosses .......... If you think you are getting ripped-off with Market Orders then switch to Limit Orders. I'm sure you know the meaning of: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." You should have switched to Limit Orders after your first unsatisfactory Market Order. :)

Yes ....... I thought about that later on and realized I should have used the adjusted close column not the close column. I had a quick look at the percentage change on both columns and I thought they were the same so I deleted the adjusted close column. :)

Buy if you think the underlying will move enough to offset the debit paid for the options. IV doesn't matter. :)
