    MSFT---SPLIT and DIVIDEND

What I don't get is the .16 div(pre split)? :  If you own a hundred shares, that is not a dividend. Thats lunch! That has a div yield of almost nothing. I guess income mutuals can now by the stock,"because it has a div".

Best way to start trading Futures?

I disagree. However, I will not argue the point. The mental aspect is definitely the key. The reason I suggested that paul paper trade the contract is just based on my own experience with it . To me the mini's move erratically than stocks. I tend to get shaken out of positions because my...

    Gambler's ruin

Oh, I agree. It is not a perfect model for a number of reasons. I posted it with the intention of helping newer traders understand the risks associated with smaller accounts and poor money management. Quite a few do not realize the drawdowns that are likely to occur when more than 1-2% of the...

Leasing a seat on the CBOT or CME

I was actually reffering to the CME, but thanks for the input. I saw a post from a CBOE market marker not long ago. He was looking for an oppurtunity to leave the floor, for just the reasons you describe. More competition and thin spreads.
