How to receive large price data over the internet

There are also websites that offer free (and not free) storage. You could use one of these as an intermediate storage location. Google for "online storage". The first one I checked out was Streamload (http://www.streamload.com/Account/Pricing.asp), but you will definitely need to pay for at...

How to receive large price data over the internet

The fastest way? Either you or the sender needs to run an ftp server and open the ftp ports to the internet. Then just do the transfer straight from one PC to the other with an ftp client (if you run the server then he can push the files, if he runs the server you can suck them down). If...

    The death of Microsoft

Still waiting for you to demonstrate that. Oh that's right: You think and therefore its true. Very enlightened. The market has spoken too - their earnings say the opposite of what you think. Keep pretending that it doesn't matter.

    The death of Microsoft

Yea, he really does have a compelling debating style that is tough to argue with, very similar to many 3rd graders. I mean on one side you have MSFT with record earnings and on the other side you have this clown who predicts they are doomed and then backpedals with "someday" (like every...

    The death of Microsoft

Shhhh, you apparently didn't get the memo, "Death" is now defined as not growing at a fast enough rate. Microsoft's quarterly earnings only grew 24%, clearly death is imminent.

    The death of Microsoft

You're such a joke man. You stated that Microsoft is dying. All I am asking is when we should see the begininning of that death. Your lame attempts to ask me questions (when I never made any bold predictions) and flip the burden of proof on me is transparent and pathetic. If you make...

    Questions about eTrade

No, you are right. You can ask for whatever you want. You may not get filled however unless you take the bid/ask. Also when you place limit orders other people see your intentions and make play games to mess with you. Its the difference between papertrading and doing it for real.

That shows the volume being offered at those price levels. So if you see bid 10 with a size of 500 and an ask of 10.07 with a size of 1000 then you know you can buy up to 1000 shares at 10.07. If you place a market buy order for 5000 shares you will very likely end up paying more, e.g...

    Questions about eTrade

The market value (last quote) is the last trade. If someone bought at the ask then that is what is shown. If someone sold at the bid then that is what is shown. You should not even look at the last price, you should be watching the bid/ask price.

    Questions about eTrade

When you place a market order you pay the asking price to buy and the bidding price to sell (where the bid is less than the ask). The difference between the bid and the ask is the spread. So if you buy a stock and turn around and immediately sell it you have already lost money (in...
