Why do people use Volume, Range and Tic charts?

For those of you looking at Prof's method and the ES.... The HH at 1462.50 told you, the probability was there would be a HL somewhere above 1450.25...and a chance to go long... There were several "early entries" catching what turned out to be the bottom at 1452.75.... the good news is...

Why do people use Volume, Range and Tic charts?

The two long trades mentioned today by myself and Prof Logic were quite profitable.... Two trades...NO drawdown....and they weren't the only trades today, just the conservative ones. I thought it might give you pause...silly me... Oh, and let us not forget the second and more profitable...

Why do people use Volume, Range and Tic charts?

Bill, You are very welcome. BTW, the second long entry pointed out on Prof's chart is working nicely too... Up till it fails!...(where did I hear that?) Best, Mark

Why do people use Volume, Range and Tic charts?

I said no more contributions to this thread....but naysayers hurt those who might find something useful in Prof's method. His method isn't perfect but does work very well...and, from memory, the answers to most of the questions asked are IN THIS THREAD...all you have to do is read and try to...

Why do people use Volume, Range and Tic charts?

Thanks Bill.... I too thought his original question was legitimate... Anyway, I won't contaminate what is an excellent thread with any more replies to non-sense....

Why do people use Volume, Range and Tic charts?

Speaking of obfuscate, are you not familiar with the term volume bar or do you just refuse to use it?

Why do people use Volume, Range and Tic charts?

As you state the question differently each time, it isn't surprising there are misunderstandings. BTW...Prof Logic doesn't use tick charts so regardless of how you ask it, there is no answer.

Why do people use Volume, Range and Tic charts?

Not superior...just different.....is a daily bar superior to an hourly bar?...is a weekly bar superior to a daily bar?....is a monthly bar superior to a weekly bar?? There is no correct answer regardless of whether we talk about ticks or time.... Trading styles and preferences determine...

POLL: What is your PRIMARY tech analysis method

JJ, Reverse or hidden divergence is not crap - if you actually understood it and tried to trade it, you would welcome it into your arsenal. Regular divergence can give false signals as it aids in picking turning points i.e. tops and bottoms. The problem is, it can give early signals -...

    Stupid tradestation

The excellent idea is to enter a hard stop loss...

    Stupid tradestation

It doesn't happen often...it IS a good lesson in always entering a hard stop-loss order regardless of which firm you trade with.

"IB NOT a TRUE real time data source!"

Yes, it is very important to me and my style of trading....more important to me than "free"....

"IB NOT a TRUE real time data source!"

Absolutely nothing about how I trade....but that doesn't seem to slow you down... Price data accuracy and data lag are totally different concepts....however, a lag of some number of milliseconds at report time doesn't affect my trading to respond to your comment....

"IB NOT a TRUE real time data source!"

If you are happy with IB, more power to you....no need to defend it to me....I could care less what anyone else uses... You keep suggesting that if my system requires accurate data, I need a new system...not at all....I just prefer accuracy where available and 2 ES points a month for accurate...

What's the Deal with Cramer in the Morning?

Cramer is appearing in the slot Don Imus used to have on MSNBC before he got the boot. MSNBC has tried any number of hosts since Imus left hoping to attract viewers. I watched a bit of the show yesterday morning...personally, I don't think Cramer is their answer.

"IB NOT a TRUE real time data source!"

I understand what you are saying and if you are happy with IB's free data service I am happy for you...may you have more winners than losers....

"IB NOT a TRUE real time data source!"

Thanks for that insight.... I have traded with people who don't get the same highs and lows that I do and are using free IB data....perhaps they didn't know how to set it up....perhaps it isn't as good as you think....it really doesn't matter....you appeared to be dismissing inaccurate prices...

"IB NOT a TRUE real time data source!"

Translation of the above... Most traders don't need accurate prices... For those that think accurate prices are important, they are available but you have to pay for them...
