Most widely used indicators for short-term directional

Great point! I love certain trades that I use by watching tape speed. Nothing you will ever learn in a book, just have to take the time watching and learning the behaviors of whatever you trade. For me I only trade the ES and I feel very comfortable with trades based on tape speed. I had...

Most widely used indicators for short-term directional

I should also say that most of my trades are in the 3 minute to 30 minute time range. I'm not sure what length of time frame you are looking at when asking the question about indicators.

Most widely used indicators for short-term directional

I use the MACD with RSI in conjunction with watching volume and Time & Sales. I just started to study the CCI and I think I will set it up and watch it next week during trading. For my personality type and for the way I trade the MACD with RSI work very good.

POLL: Typical maximum % risk of account exposed at any one time

Max 3 point stop plus 1 point for slippage will always be at or below 2% of account for me. For example 5 ES with 4 pts for the stop (3 pts + 1 pt slippage) would equal $1000 loss if the stop was hit, which would be 2% of a $50,000 account.

    Pre trade routine

I fly to Houston from Austin around 7:00 pm and then I work all night in Houston and catch the 7:00 am flight to Austin in the morning. At 7:40 am I run like hell to my car in the airport parking lot and then blast off for my 35 minute drive home. From 7:40 am to 8:15 am I am usually ramming...

    Check out this chart

I've been long this chart for a few months now, and I'm still bullish now to at least 1160 to 1170 on the S&P over the next few months.

    Handling Skepticism from Loved Ones

Great answer! To explain the plan to the father-in-law with sincerity and detail is a great sign of respect that will be appreciated in IMO.

    Handling Skepticism from Loved Ones

The more I here from people that a person can't make a living in this "risky gambling trading stuff", the more I get excited that I have a way out of the trap of working for others. When you work for someone else, you spend every working moment of your life building up their dreams. It is the...

    Listening to music while trading

Go to www.patrickohearn.com and check out his music from the "Ancient Dreams" CD. All the Patrick O'Hearn CD's are damn good IMO! Check out amazon for some additional samplings of his music.

    Listening to music while trading

Also, you should go to the main website for cusco at www.cuscomusic.com and please listen to the music samples for their CD "Apurimac II - Return to Ancient America". One of my favorite songs from cusco is "Montezuma", and wow what a great song to listen to when your rocking during the trading...

Like I originally posted on the "S&P 500 Looking Very Toppy" thread, I feel we will continue to move upwards. I also feel that the bear will be in his cave for awhile, because he is full from all the bloody carcasses he left behind.
