    Tax question on ETF 's

The main thing to learn is that ETF's are not worth the trouble. There are simpler ways to trade and invest. Stosh

    GREAT news out of California

It is because California got a head start on us.......but we in Texas are going down the same road, perhaps a decade behind.

    Looking for Advice

A few comments from a 65 yr. old who has been there: I would consider that economics degree as a great foundation for a lifetime of learning, not to mention lessons you have learned from occasional trading. I have heard it said that the worst thing that can happen to a young man is for him to...

    Looking for Advice

What sort of education and experience do you have? That should enter in to any advice that you are given, imo. And how understanding is your wife about your slow start as a portfolio manager (very important)? Stosh

Hire me, I´ll work for free...

Frankly, I wish some attorney who is familiar with labor law would give us a definitive answer on this. I owned my own business for 30 years and I would have been afraid to let someone work for free....for fear that they might get mad about something or get hurt, then report you later or file...

I suppose you have never heard of minimum wage laws.

Hire me, I´ll work for free...

Of course, it is against the law for people to work for free.......don't really know why as long as it is voluntary? Maybe it has to do with taxes or votes. Stosh

phone for trading, aircard Q as well?

I have a Verizon aircard that I got at Best Buy over a year ago. I use it with my laptop when away from home......works well. CME e-micro futures

I did some swing trades in M6A, M6E, and M6C with limit orders.......worked out fine, but not enough liquidity for day trading. They might still catch on as time goes by. Stosh

    California dreamin'

Well said, JEM. The election tomorrow and the ensuing events will be very interesting. Let's hope that there are enough sensible people left to turn things around, but it may be too late. They may have passed the tipping point and may be destined to eventually morph into Mexico or Cuba. Hope...

Interesting perspective. A complicated ballot issue like this requires vetting of all possible unforeseen consequences. Thanks for your considered analysis. :p Stosh

I'm just an "out of state trailer monkey", but isn't tomorrow the day Californians vote on the various financial ballot proposals.....supposed to be a watershed event. Comments?? Stosh

    To Pair Gains

I've heard the term used that businesses, investors, etc. have "pared their losses" meaning they are not losing as much money. I've never heard it used the way you quoted it, but I assume "paring your gains" would mean you are not gaining as much. Stosh
