    IB schedule D worksheet question?

Would appreciate someone to unconfuse me. On my IB Schedule D Worksheet, it has a subtotal under column d (sales prices) of $359, 673, then on the next line it has a total of $375, 201, with no clue as to why the increase. Anyone know what that might be? The gross proceeds on my 1099B is the...

This crisis proved that Business Schools and Finance Universities are worthless?

Higher business and economics education may not be worthless, but it is certainly dangerous when the grads move into positions of power too quickly in gov't and financial firms.

Question: YM and ES Trading Hours?

The current day ends at 3:15, and the next day begins at 3:30. So, there is a 15 minute shut down in between. On Friday, trading ends at 3:15 as usual, but no more trading until 5 pm on Sunday when the Monday trading day begins. As you mentioned, there is also a 30 min interruption...

Have we got guns? Ha Ha Most of our guns are military surplus...some are black powder and some are belt fed. Takes some practice to clip a deer with an RPG and not ruin the meat. Of course, nothing tastes better than fried rattlesnake. We just grab them by the tail, pop them like a...

What college majors are best for trading (and are favored by trading firms)?

I have a BBA with finance major and wish I had a better understanding of economics. But I trade my own account so am not looking for what might help in getting a job. Seems to me that comp sci, statistics, math, psychology, accounting are tools and nice courses to take but my goal would be...

Flaws in Warren Buffett's reasoning re: Treasuries "bubble"

Cutten: Having lived through the 70's and 80's and remembering 21% prime and 19% yields on gov't bonds, I look forward to your next post about inflationary expectations. Thanks for the interesting post. Stosh

My definition of stagflation (and a question)

Here in Fort Worth, Texas, real estate went up in price like crazy in the latter part of the 70's. Partly, I suppose because construction had been at a standstill in the mid 70's. There were many shocks to the system during the 70's. Nixon's wage and price controls, OPEC oil embargo, Viet...

    Market bubbles

Obvious guesses would be gold, treasuries, commodity etf's. Of course, in 10 years or so we can repeat on real estate and oil. I suppose a scare in food or water is possible. With rising inflation, nearly everything can bubble. Stosh

    Futures execution question

I'm not an expert either but it seems that if, for example, there were 10 bids on the books at 751.75, but only 5 offers to sell at 751.75, then only 5 bids would get filled. I suppose those bids that had been there the longest, would get filled first.....don't know for sure. Maybe someone...

California… roadmap to Socialism in the USSA

By the way, before they stop entitlement spending (buying votes), I wouldn't be surprised to see them selling parks, highways, military bases, weapons, gov't buildings, etc. Once the beast reaches a certain size he needs to be fed large and often. Stosh
