What do you consider to be the most valuable thing you've learned from a post on ET?

There are very few people sharing very few valuable insights. When that happens, very few care. I think it is fascinating.

    The intraday is a casino

The 1st picture is a weekly ES chart. The 2nd picture is a 5min ES chart. The major differences are: - "The cleanliness" of trends is great on a weekly chart. - The slippage, spread, commissions and fees impacts on intraday positions, is huge on day trades. - Weekly charts don't move much...

    Do Journals Help?

I guess a lot of ET members will disagree with me: Having a journal is very important during the learning period only. Understanding our own mistakes is just the beginning. Feeling the need for a journal is great and that is a 1st steep. In that case, no real money should be traded. Paper...

Who does everyone use for macro research?

Since the past few months, yes. For medium to long term investments, I created a cycle analysis specially based on Larry Williams, Nicolai Kondratieff and Edward Dewey works. I use macro (from the macro trader) for specifics during a cycle.

Can't open trading account for single member LLC (foreign)

In the US, all financial institutions have to ask for the real beneficiaries of the company, for money laundering purpose. If you live in a non banned country (Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, etc.) that should be OK if they accept non US beneficiaries. Hope this helps.

    Trading With LMI

Hi AlexnderKA, (no irony with my question). If you are in independent trader, with an extensive experience, and comfortable enough to trade with a 150K account, why do you feel the need the work for a prop firm? This is very intriguing to me. Best, Fonz

    Daily Risk Rule

The risk is also the duration of the investment, the type of investment, leverage or not, long or short, etc. During a great market crash, everything except volatility will go down. Brokers can also go down.

How to size up capital appropriately?

Losing 10% of a $1.000 account is no big deal, but losing 1M of a 10M account is a very big deal. This is why pros don't take high risks.

How to size up capital appropriately?

Here is the Larry Williams formula: (account balance *risk percent) /largest loss = contracts or shares to trade. The risk % is up to you and should be the reflection of your biggest DD. Just apply this formula to your past 12 months of trading (if you keep good records) and check your new DD...
