Altucher- Bears ae dead wrong, S&P to 1300 in 2010

No, my bullishness has nothing to do with leverage or any other dynamics of trading. Its has to do with the fact that inventories fell to a century low and now all evidence suggests we are in a massive rebuilding phase. This catapult earnings on the S&P 500 to about $120+ a share in the next...

Altucher- Bears ae dead wrong, S&P to 1300 in 2010

First off, i'm not just bullish on the markets but on stocks as well. Last year at the bottom I was recommending at thestreet.com stocks like GNW (at a dollar), TGB (at 1.80), STEC (at 6), AGO (at 9), etc and even in October, 2008 i was recommending GS at 100 and FCX at 60. Better to be...

    The case against college

This was hilarious. One part is true: I didn't learn anything at college. The rest is far from the mark.

    15% upside according to Biggs

We give people the option to track their own portfolios and I should probably put a benchmark in there for comparison. But we don't track pro portfolios only because its mostly impossible. There's no way to know intra-quarter how these guys are trading. Really its good to know their picks just...

    15% upside according to Biggs

I think his picks are more interesting as well. For instance, he's in Pulte Homes, PHM. Here's Ken Fisher's top picks with some of his analysis.

    15% upside according to Biggs

In 1987 I started a business with, and had a crush on, Biggs' daughter. The few times he visited her on weekends he was pretty hardcore. He had a stack of research reports about four feet high and he'd sit on the steps all weekend reading them and highlighting things. His fund's been doing...

    Stockpickr vs stock_trad3r

Well, I personally am a permabull. My view is, we've had wars, depressions, terrorist attacks, more wars, scandals, awful presidents, assassinations, etc. And where is the market? Near all time highs. That said, at Stockpickr.com there are plenty of people who list short picks. The idea of...

    trend following delusion shattered

I have no problem saying it. Trend following can be done intraday. I said it. But it has nothing to do with what the "trend followers" do that everyone seems to revere here. Its two completely different methods that have nothing to do with each other.

    trend following delusion shattered

No they dont. The trend followers dont really trade intraday. They are not "Trend followers" on intraday trends.

    trend following delusion shattered

I guess so, but I'm not sure thats what Henry, or Superfund, or Eckhardt, or even Seykota would say is a trend. I dont think Seykota ever traded intraday and would make relatively few trades a year. But yeah, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

    trend following delusion shattered

I know everyone here loves trendfollowing, but I thought most people on elite trader were "traders". Not long-term investors. Trend following is mostly a long-term investing strategy. Trends last years. And then they get broken for years. Which is why many of these guys, the best of the best...

List of 5 Traders Worth Studying

i have to say, the disappointing thing on this forum is that almost all of the lists presented have 100% people who lost more money than they made in the markets. Here are the traders who I think one can learn the most from: - Renaissance Technologies' Jim Simons - true, his techniques...
