    zero sum game?????????????

That the value of the stock or the economy is going up has nothing to do with simple math of selling and buying.

    zero sum game?????????????

If that was true I could sell you my dirty socks for 1 dollar, and you could sell em back for two. Then I sell it to you for three and so on and we would both make money. Wonderful, we can make tons of money this way right? :) The thing is, when you sell a stock for a 1 dollar profit the next...

    Midnight rally

Without having to read the whole thread - isn´t the midnight rally just caused by Dax being strong?

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

"Just my suggestions so far. Be interested in yours." My approach so far is that I don´t trade if there is no retracement. This is not satisfying of course, but until I know exactly what I want to see I just don´t know how to enter the trends that doesn´t look back. To spare you some...

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

achilles - i suggest you read the "channels compiled" document that is attached somewhere in this thread, it´s really good. I look at the first move as a traverse of a channel that doesn´t exist until there is a retrace. This works most of the time, but then we have the moves with no...

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

Achilles, you were touching the single most complicated question for me (and it´s not even of topic) - that is what are the characteristics of trends that do not retrace? What clues to look for that a trend will not retrace? How to handle sharp reversals without a second test off the high-low...

    ES Traders

I was thinking the same thing (I don´t no if that makes it more likely to be true though :)). The rallies showed less and less volume and YM were weak just like yesterday afternoon. I traded the break down at 15.35.

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

Most of the questions concerning price, volume and channels have already been answered several times in this thread. When a question pops up in my mind now I try to answer it myself. But I´m still interested in the fluff. When I interview someone I wanna know what he ate for breakfest, I...

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

I´m not as nice as you, when a sells person call I just scream something and hang up. :) Do you - or someone else - has any tips on articles or threads about what different groups of investors and speculators look for and how they act during the day?

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

One thing I couldn´t figure out today was what happened at 1.40. 1294 had held as support for over an hour, then as soon as the market breaks through to 1237.75 there is suddenly huge volume, and then nothing, no follow through at all. It seemed like no one was really interested in driving...

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

Ask me in a year or five :) I don´t think it´s impossible, but I think people who have worked as floor traders or has managed funds or something similar has a huge advantage. With the low volume you want to know how the big guys are thinking, cause a big order can hit the tape out of no where.

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

Today there was a lot of horisontal movement where the "up and down" trendlines or price levels were the most important ones all through lunch and afternoon.

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

I think time is maybe the most difficult component for a beginner, to evaluate what is happening now in comparison to what happened the last minute, 10 minutes, hour, day. I feel like I sometimes zoom in too much and sometimes I zoom out to much. For me it´s easy to get too hyper if I...

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

maybe you could put up notes on the left and right side of the screen so you don´t forget which is which? Since the channels sometimes are horisontal you might wanna add up and down too :D

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

No, hadn´t seen that one, thanks. Apart from what´s been posted here I´ve only read the documents that you can find in the msn group.

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

On the paltalk tapes Jack talks a lot about stocks, volume in different markets and that kind of general stuff in the beginning of the days. It´s a bit difficult to follow for me. Has he written somewhere more specifically what stocks/markets he look at and how to get a general feeling for how...

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

The break-out just before 2 was nice too.

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

lol, really impressive Easy. Did you just feel like doing a little more active trading today and picked out like 15 points for fun? :) Dan, I agree with you, but I don´t think there´s a single trader who makes money with a indicator-dummie-set-up-edge-system who is not good at reading...

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

Dan, you have this picture in your head where set-up trading and jacks ideas are completely opposite of each other. that´s not true at all. If you dumbly place a bet when some conditions are meet and don´t listen to the market, THEN there is a huge difference. But i wouldn´t dream of doing...

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

Thanks for comments Dan. But I´m not aiming for sct right now, I just hoped that easyrider would give it some more work, if he wasn´t so found of computer games I believe he could do it. He always says stuff like "I´m too old, I´m not smart enough" and so on, but I think he´s just a bit...
