Low-latency data feed and execution APIs

not offended at all... i dont get offended by anything anyone says on this forum, nor do I get offended so easily in real life... i just find it amazing that technologist, or even management, would make a determination as to a technology without even bothering to understand it or even research...

Low-latency data feed and execution APIs

interesting that you were able to derive your final decision without evaluating and comparing your requirements to what the product can do or not do.... also, if your role (and what you are getting paid for) is to provide a solution, and you are here looking for answers, then I feel sorry...

Low-latency data feed and execution APIs

why re-invent the wheel when you dont have to? ther are service providers that focus on that market that have invested into the technology... you can go with whatever FCM you desire, as long as it is one of the supported feeds.. try embium.. http://embium.com/ I am using their low end...

Setting System Clock to a Different Time Zone

there should be no problems of any kind... your clock has little to do with ISP or anything else... only with your apps and your own personal internal clock.. as an example... I have my CQG workstation set to CST mostly because the line is set to CST and I find it easier to just look at that...

Free charting software for IQ Feed

daily charts of what? free platforms are many, but not all are created equal depending on what you trade, given they wont handle all products... if you just need simple charting, NT will more than do it... if you need anything more complex, you will need a more robust charting platform.... not...

OrderBook 'sweep' event-depth update nuances needed

to derive any benefit from the information you seek to explore you will need FOB data, which will contain every single update to the resting orders... sweeping the book means little if you can not understand how quickly the orders behind were replenished... keep in mind all this happens in the...

Should I build my own or buy refurbished

I could not agree more, when you see a good value, best to grab it and not think twice... that usually just requires knowing what your total or average costs are for once's range so after a brief amount of research one can easily shop and compare and recognize a good deal... and, I stand...

Should I build my own or buy refurbished

I agree with the ovearll idea... you can buy reman for next to nothing, including for a backup machine... heck, you can even buy laptops... I just ordered a lenovo G585 from their outlet for oldest child for $200... building is not for everyone, even for myself that knows what to do and have...

Should I build my own or buy refurbished

I agree... not necesarily... that is a common assumption, with very little foundation other than individuals personal experience in certain matters... a vendor by default can not sell something that was returned as new, it has to be classified as refurb even if the box was never opened...

    Trader P/L 2013

my biggest issue as well is sitting on my hands waiting for "setups"... perhaps what will help you is remembering that any force trade is really outside of your plan and as such will just automatically create a loss...

Should I build my own or buy refurbished

they are both the same warranty for refurb... 1 year... you can always buy additional years but what I have found is that what will fail for the most part after year 1 are the power supplies and the hard disk... it can all be the luck of the Irish... I've never had a PSU failure, and HDD's...

    Cyborg like conditional execution

cyborg is one of the best order management software that I have personally used... I have not found anything else with similar functionality, but that is just me... I know that CQGIC also has similar algo's for order management and execution, because I use them as well... but the limitation...

Should I build my own or buy refurbished

I wonder if people bother to read other threads before asking their questions, this in fact has been answered already more than once... in any event... you also can go refurb with HP... and "value" is relative... with HP you get a free24" monitor for the same price dell would charge you...

    Sh*ty 401k

I have to agree with Stevegee58.... $10K is nothing ... no offense... very little can be done with that level of capital in terms of investing within your 401k... if your plan admin allows partial rollovers, then you can roll a portion to a SD-IRA plan and your choices for investing are...

    Trader P/L 2013

at least you are sticking to it... I had a rather significant loss trading directionally the other day because I was too stubborn to recognize the trade didnt worked out and focus instead on the next trade and not hoping... and that took me off trading for almost 2 weeks... but now I am back and...

Three 30 inch monitors... is it enough?

a better question, what does your card support? can you run a monitor with less of its res? yes as long as that monitor has the right connector... which it seems it has a variety...assuming you do have the U3011... then this is what you have.. 2 High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) 2...

    Stoxx 50

ESTX50 is the EUR based one... (very liquid given it has way more volume) STX is the USD based one... (lesser volume, but still liquid)

Three 30 inch monitors... is it enough?

to achieve max resolution, you need dual link for that monitor.... there is no if's or buts about it... not sure what the issue seems to be, but you should follow the vendor instructions.
