    Which would you rather trade

A system that shows 80% winners is more likely to fall to 47% over time, before a system that shows 33% winners falls to 0%. (I think that's what he meant)

    Winning in the EMinis

That was a very eloquent way of saying "Everybody wants something for nothing" But, I can assure you I'm not looking for any handouts. And, your Shaksperian quote was most impressive. I'm looking thru glass...

    Winning in the EMinis

Quote from NihabaAshi: Hi SumJurk, Can you prove pivot points are a solid strategy? Are you consistently profitable via this strategy (sarcasm)? Everyone knows that pivot points are a viable strategy and that floor traders make money with them. I never...

    Winning in the EMinis

No, I don't believe he's going to give any specific trading advice, either. But, he has given us the impression that he's making plenty of dough, and if you listen to me, you too, may be like me someday. Here's a quote from his opening post" Every year has gotten easier after the first 4...

    Winning in the EMinis

Don't put words into my mouth. I didn't say it was garbage. I just get tired of getting sage advice from people who can't make a dime trading. I guess it's just my distaste for the vendors and seminar teachers, who never show any proof they know what their talking about. Like I said, there...

    Self Taught or Mentored?

LOL... Seriously, though, having a mentor may not be your answer. Take a guy like Evil Knievel for example.(the guy who flies in the air with his motorcycle) He can show me exactly what bike to use, exactly how fast I need to be going, and exactly how high the ramps need to be to...

    Losers wanted...

Oh, I wouldn't complain. He probably just had a bad day. Hell, he might even have blown his account.

    Losers wanted...

LOL... I'm not sure what the point was. I'm not even sure what this whole dumb-ass thread's supposed to be about.

    Losers wanted...

I figure you have seven types of people who post on this board. 1. Retired folks who have there monthly pension checks coming in and are just piddling around. 2. Stock and Futures brokers. (who also just piddle around) 3. People with real jobs, who just trade as a hobby. 4. People who...

    Winning in the EMinis

No offense, but unless you can post some proof that you're making money trading the e-minis (recent acct statement, etc), this thread is just a bunch of babbling. Reading this thread reminds me of the vendors, giving all their wise advice, yet they can't make a dime trading. Like I...

    pitchforks

Give me a break, will ya. You make it sound like you've just discovered atomic fusion or something. Any bozo can trade, and any ideas we think we might have invented have already been thought of, and tried. The best thing we can do is share our simple ideas and hope someone who knows a lot...

Is 56 winners out of 64 total positions a good trading record?

Right...or to put it simpler. Depends on how much you made on the winners and how much you lost on the losers.

Are there pullback systems that backtest well?

I just fade intraday highs and lows. Big secret...huh. But, some days, there's a bunch of us doing it, and we can make some good money.

Are there pullback systems that backtest well?

Hi...I'd be happy to share the details. Because, I want everybody to be going long or short when I do the same... :)

Are there pullback systems that backtest well?

I'm not sure I agree with that. I think that's why pivots, divergences, breakouts and pullbacks do work. They work, because their are so many traders looking at the same thing. So, I would think, if you wanted to trade pullbacks as you're main strategy, look for the most common approach...

    95% Rule? - An Experiment

Thanks... I'm a fader, I fade intraday high and lows. That's all I do, everyday, 5 days a week, 20 days a month, 240 days a year. Somedays I'll lose, But, I don't give up and look for another method just because I have a bad day!

    95% Rule? - An Experiment

Of course, I mean one that works. The ones that do are no secret. For example, pivots. Floor traders have been making money off them for years. Others are divergences, fibb retracements, breakouts of supp/resist levels, etc. There are plenty of methods that work, and you probably know them...

    95% Rule? - An Experiment

First of all, you don't understand why 90% lose money. It's not because their methods suck, it's because they don't have the discipline to follow the method. It's a lot like dieting, you can walk in to any book store and find books on how to lose weight, and they all work. So, why can't...
