Naked Shorting on Dateline NBC Tonight.

That prosecutor didn't know a damn thing about how the market actually works. He implied that because Amazon survived these other companies should have as well. I guess he doesn't realize that most of the thousand companies that he says went under from fraudulant manipulation just had poor...

    Trying to raise Money

I don't want to sound harsh, but if you are looking to raise 50k and keep 20% of the profits you couldn't possibly have much of a track record. Any kind of real success and you'd have a lot more than 50k of your own by now. Why not trade a smaller amount and forget about outside investors...

    Bond Trading

I'm looking for information on where to trade bonds, convertible or otherwise. Does anyone here trade bonds and if so through which firm? Thanks

    Avidus- Genesis

The LASER platform is great, but designed for trading Nasdaq. It''s apparently awful for trading NYSE. I'm sure others can verify this.

Blotter Time (Put up or shut up)

Just get the 30-day free trial then set your computer clock back when it expires, since we're keeping it "honest". j/k :) I used the free trial, but had no use for it afterwards. Definately good if you want a visual record and I'm sure it's inexpensive.

Blotter Time (Put up or shut up)

I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone making a serious living trading significantly less than 100k each day. There would be a few, but they're probably swing trading large positions. I wasn't making great money until at least 50k shares per day. Now at 200k per day and lots of room to...

Don's openings and more for 2005

In light of the short sale exeptions coming up this week it may be prudent to give some thought to how this will affect opening prints. I believe there will be a greater edge because there will be more extreme downprints. How many times have you seen a stock open down and continue falling...

Is anyone getting rich out there?

There are definately traders making 100k-400k. If you're looking for more than that anytime soon you'll have to be some kind of extreme exception or extremely well funded, or both. If you can even hit 100k without taking a ridiculous amout of risk you will already be in the top few % of all...

Prop Blowups, how common are they?

You edited your previous post and added in 1/10,000ths, then rag on another poster for missing it, come on.

    SEC fees

It is now in the $23-24 range per million. It makes a huge difference if you're a high volume trader. Sorry, I don't have a link.

    NYSE Increments

Obvioulsy I wouldn't have posted this question without expecting responses like yours. I don't come on these threads to brag about income or to cut down other people. I've made no false claims and am not too proud to ask questions when I'm uninformed. After hearing about the "5 cent rule" I...

    NYSE Increments

I use NX dozens of times a day and myself, along with all of the successful NYSE traders I've asked, have no idea about any 5 cent rule. Nobody on this thread has been able to explain exactly what the rule is, except that it's only applicable to Direct X users, which I am not.

    Currently Profitable Traders

Sorry about that last post, I misunderstood the connection between your two posts. I agree with your last comment though, it's amazing how many unprofitable traders size up. Why would anybody want to increase their losses?

Who did you reply to? It certainly wasn't me. I am not selling anything.

Thanks, then I suggest grimer change from Direct. Everyone else can put orders wherever they want.
