Those who have been in Pro firms, do you feel they can train you to be a successful trader?

There are quite a lot of spikes in TA charts. Today example is in the FTSE100 futures there is a 30 points lower tail in the candle at 15:20PM. I guess such spikes are errors. But they are so common that I have seen lots of them in other charting websites and software. Anyone knows why?

Did it let you making some wrong decisions? I had made some wrong trades because of it. :mad: It may not be so important for long term traders but for me it is shit!!!!!!!

When I compared the charts in realtick with the quote in the IB trader workstation, I always found that there was a delay in the charts. The IB one seemed to be the most current market values. The delay might be only 1 or 2 seconds or more when the market went wild. I found other data sources...

I noticed(from the IB Trader workstation) the SEP FTSE futures and the DEC one always have the same bid size and so as their ask sizes. Is there any meaning in it?

Does anyone know how many the points of SP futures dropped on 19 Oct 87 and 11 Sep 2001? Those people had positions during those time, could their stop losses work properly?

Whamo : 4 points may be quite big for me!!!! If your reward/risk ratio is 2:1, then you need to make 8 points to achieve it. Could you do that?

The question is why is DOW so illiquid. Why SP is so liquid? It is liquid so many people play it and it becomes even more liquid. Why DOW cannot become more liquid?

Does anyone know what time will the big players in the City go for lunch ? Does the FTSE100 become more volatile after the US market opened?

I also want to know why there are so few DOW futures traders. Why people devoted to SP instead of DOW? Does DOW have any features that deter people?

Whamo: I am using 1-min and 5-min charts as well. There are many whipsaws. Which market are you trading? Yes. I also noticed that different markets have different properties in different time periods.

Thank for your help. I also use ADX and MACD. But waiting the ADX to rise above 30 may make me miss quite a lot of the trend. If the trend is long enough, this is fine. But for a short trend you may enter at or near the peak. A strong trend can also finish quickly. May be the question...
