OP. Keep the cash you have and learn to swing trade on demo or for microstakes. This way you can work a job. You are gambling with no edge. GL

How obsessed are you with the markets?

show me someone who is wildly successful at any business endeavour who isn't obsessed about it.

How obsessed are you with the markets?

very obsessed. It's my life's work. You have to have things to do socially, physically & mentally outside of trading to get some sort of balance. You have to learn to relax in the uncertainty, it becomes easier with more capital imo.

If more gold futures contracts are traded what does that mean? It takes nothing to magic up another futures contract all you need is a willing buyer and seller.

you are asking for secret sauce. It's not a fundamental reason. The reasoning is buried in relative strength studies. You can apply these across currencies, metals, indices. Watch out for gold and silver decoupling their correlation from equities and the dollar, that's when things might heat up.

What is the rationale behind trendlines?

I use them to the extent that I note where other people have likely entered and where they are likely to have put their stop. I do not enter a trade when price hits a trendline as I said sometimes they work sometimes they dont.

What is the rationale behind trendlines?

Trend lines are very valuable to me as they show you where market makers have built inventory. They also clearly show where a significant portion of traders placed their stops. If you go on any social media where retail traders congregate you will see they love to play trendlines. Given the...

    25,000 Roundtrips a day?!

The top volume players pay less than the publicised membership exchange fees on some exchanges. I dont know about eurex. In some instances on challenger exchanges they are paid to trade.

    25,000 Roundtrips a day?!

I dont trade Eurex but if someone could post up a DOM of the Schatz/Bobl spread it would illustrate the liquidty of some of these markets.

    25,000 Roundtrips a day?!

absolutely. once you RT costs are down below 15% of the tick size new strategies are open to you. flys will then cost you 60% of a tick enabling you to profit. The trader also needs to allow for losers and scratches, hence top volume traders will be paying way less then 10% of a tick per round...

    25,000 Roundtrips a day?!

keep in mind that retail normally think in terms of volume going through on outrights. The liquidity available in many spread markets dwarfs that of anything you will see in outright. Take crude oil for example, people on retail forums talk about it being 'thin'. If a trader is in one of the...

I will be surprised if gold does not make new annual highs by month end. Watch for the gold equity decouple. Joe Biden odds for next POTUS just got slashed.

My illustration was about sample sizes and drawing conclusions from them. Obviously a coin flip doesn't model a market. Gotta love ET lol

I am surprised Trump has started openly Fed bashing again. He clearly feels more confident after the weekends events with Hillary. Notice how he keeps pushing back on the word 'independent'. 1946 guys thats when BOE became independent. 70 years ago...
