I'm going to leave this forum for protesting

You are going to have to stay in order to repeat enough times that you are leaving. :)

So what is the easiest market to trade?

Easiest, short-term or long term, something with an edge .. all similar questions. No harm in the newbie or the so far unsuccessful searching. The answers. Easiest is index futures (ie DOW). Play short term. There is no edge .. know your market. So do your research: the starting point...

Short term trading vs. long term trading

"The sum of all the squiggles is always greater than a straight line connecting the ends! :) " abogdan Amen. As well. Or the sum of the parts is (far) greater than the whole. Day trading (ie DOW index futures) .. way way the easy winner!

    Sliced and diced ..

The DOW opening 40 points up; then a 190 point slide. This baby is gyrating. Recovery Wednesday?

What would you do if you had the "holy grail"?

"There's NO such thing as a Holy Grail. It simply does NOT exist". Sure .. for most that is correct.

    Sliced and diced ..

Scene 2, same Act, longs getting chewed again. How long can a long last longing for a lengthy lift in price?

What would you do if you had the "holy grail"?

I would define the Holy Grail as allowing very occasional loss - but never injurious because you trade on a fixed relative bet size ratio to capital. But the key is that the Holy Grail will function for you as an unabated accumulator. As pointed out zero sum dynamics allow rapid...

    Sucker plays

Hi Sucker, be a sucker no more. Markets don't really offer edges. (Of course if you say YOU have an edge and you make money from it, fine.) The thing is the market is the market. Know it. If you just look at the DOW (ie index futures) and its gyrations usually day after day its really...

    Change Your Attitude and Vocabulary!!!

Bundlemaker, very nice little point .. that the brain can't not do; it can only do. Also its easier for anyone to say he will not repeat a mistake (trading) if he doesn't know clearly what he should have done better and so instruct himself precisely then what to do next such time to avoid the...

    Fear

Fear, dread, panic, anxiety or general fu*ked-up nervousness .. the greater they are the greater is the extent to which you don't know your market (ie don't know what you are doing). So. Exploit zero sum dynamics (ie DOW index futures). Research. Assemble your data. Analyze and set up you...

    Bull vs Bear Case

Sweet. There is nothing in your statement to figure out.

    Sliced and diced ..

180 point slide on the DOW with a 60 point uptick in the tail. Makes for a good precursor .. come Mondays Open.

    Bull vs Bear Case

The point is already stated. Do not have a defined benefits fund. Fund members should only get what the fund produces!

    Bull vs Bear Case

What sort of antique nineteenth century commercial mumbo jumbo bases a pension fund performance on what it should pay its members relative to final salary!! A pension fund can and should only pay a result (ie a final investment share for buying a pension annuity) in ratio to contributions...

    Great Trading Metaphors

I see reference to Ruth Roosevelt. Love that bit where she says, "Do it. Just do it." You can research and put together a very accurate trading model but you must still "Do it"; it only becomes a piece a cake once you do start doing it so that it then becomes just a reflex action through...

    15,000 Dow

The most recent swing and momentum report which I received this morning suggests that the DOW should break above the 10560 level. If that occurs the DOW is then expected to work its way up to 10800 or thereabouts to test the previous 2004 high.

    15,000 Dow

The DOW pullback went from 10750 on Feb 12 down to 10000 on Mar 24 .. a concise 750 point drop. From there the bull resurgence got the DOW up 500 points to 10500 on Friday (Apr 2). So on my scale 3 steps back and 2 steps forward (250 points per step). Where to next for the mighty DOW?

    Stairway to Paradise

"Well.... if you use a zero sum model and all the institutional traders are making the plays and money... You're planning on being a loser?" Galt the Dolt Such wisdom! Oh the logic! And the detailed foreknowledge and experience .. really handsome, man! Zero sum playing is very effective...
