    Day Trading is a pipedream.

to schizo, why wouldn't I believe it, in fact I would admire him ! However the fact remains, he would be the exception not the rule...most day traders are still going to fail chasing a dream. That's my point.

    Day Trading is a pipedream.

to schizo, of course I trade, but I don't day trade because it's not for me and I couldn't do it BUT would love to meet someone who can. Consistent is someone who makes money, year after year after year. When there are bad years obviously there are going to be some, the losses are small...

    Day Trading is a pipedream.

Never said that investing for the long term is better than day trading. Personally I think they are both scams. Still, it is easier to meet people who made money by investing for the long term, than a day trader. If you need to insult to make your point, you have no point.

    Day Trading is a pipedream.

" I will win mentality " is self motivation books crap, for people with hope, and hope is the best they got. I will win mentaility in reality is only a small part of what it takes to be succesful. Just because you really really want to build a staircase that goes up to the moon does not mean...

    Day Trading is a pipedream.

To increasenow, Someone who trades every day is a day trader. Irrilevant if you make 1 trade per day or 100. You write "you just need one profitable trade per day to be successful. " I ask you if you can make that " just one profitable trade" for many years to come. Personally I...

How long has everyone been trading?

Started with 0 background in finance 5 years ago. Made a lot of money and I thought I was really good, but I was only lucky. Gave back almost all the money I made, but ALWAYS preserved my original account. Now luck is no longer a factor in my trading. My gains are smaller, but so is my risk...

TheBestGuruEver, what a great post! I certainly know a thing or two about gurus. I paid someone a total of 35k for mentoring and newsletters. I believe that it was worth it since now I can walk with my own legs and I don't need anything anymore from him or anyone else but...nothing was free...

Have you ever blown up your trading account?

Being lucky or unlucky has nothing to do with being a good trader. Some pros have been trading for 20+ years. Was it a matter of luck ?

Lookin' for homies in San Diego

Funny how Colinsef wants to be immediately mentored by milehigh_trader just because he writes an ad saying he is trading. Maybe I am underestimanting myself, but if most people in the market are like Colinsef I have a future in this biz.

Terry Watanabe loses $100 million in Vegas then sues Harrah's

You have a point, but the guy is a gambler and he made A LOT of bad choices and mistakes...shouldn't he pay for that ? If you have been in Vegas for say 6 months and things are not going well and you decide to gamble for 6 more months and lose more money, who is to blame ? He was drugged...

    Whom do you trust?

You should trust the fact that no one really knows why the market moves in a certain way and even people who claim they know they still do not know. You have a very good point, if one is such a great trader, why sell books and teach seminars ? If for whatever reason you know that for a...

    the delta phenomenon

I am still confused if this "delta phenomenon and ocean theory" are good softwares or not. The price 10k or more is very expensive. I believe that J Wilder and Jim Sloman are very smart...too smart to sell a trading software for 10k if it does make a lot of money...don't you think ? They...

    George Fontanills

They care more about money than reputation, what's to understand ? A few years ago Thinkorswim merged with Investools. Companies like that compliment each other. There is going to be a crossover of clients... from one company to the other and viceversa. Wondering who is going to take over Etrade.
