Short-locating QQQ vs. Buying PSQ - Novice Day Trade Help

If you go back 5 years to 9/30/2015 I see the following: QQQ: Up 174% TQQQ Up 899% (14.53 --> 130.69) I believe the returns should be geometric so it should have been 2.74^3 = 20.57 or 2057% so it actually under performed by ~ 1100% which makes sense since it had 2 huge drawdowns of 60%...

Short-locating QQQ vs. Buying PSQ - Novice Day Trade Help

I've been holding TQQQ & UPRO since around the Greek debt crisis. I've done pretty well. Since it began trading in 2/11/2010 TQQQ has gone from $1.86 split adjusted to $131.08 on 9/28/2020 so it is up a cool 70.47X or 6947%. I doubt any stock is up 70X since 2010. UPRO is up 23.2X since it...

AMD should be bought on pull backs

I've built quite a few white boxes from both Intel & AMD and it isn't even close -- AMD destroys anything Intel has out. Even the new LGA1200 CPUs from Intel are pretty pathetic: Comparing $400 CPUs -- 10700K (LGA1200) vs. Ryzen 3900X (AM4). The 3900X has 66% better performance according to...

Finally, Direxion Funds announces reverse splits on ETFs

I wish they would do a split of their 3 digit ETFs like SOXL, JNUG, etc. Its hard to take profits if you have a small account (like my Roth IRA).

Why is DGP so much higher than 2x GLD right now?

These inefficiencies usually only happen in illiquid markets or the closed end funds. I'm still amazed that people went from UGLD to DGP and not to UGL considering UGL is a very old ETF started by the pioneers of leveraged ETFs -- ProShares. I used to trade the SKF ETF (-2X XLF) back during the...

Any other Intermediate-Term-Trend ETF Traders here?

My experience tells me the best swing trading strategy is momentum trading. The work from home stocks have reigned supreme since the collapse but that trade looks very crowded. Looks like in the last few days the trend might moving back to "value" stocks aka physical companies. I personally...

    nvax what's the plan?

NVAX is a strange stock on volume analysis. The volume peaked on 5/12/20 at 75 million shares when the stock was $40. Even the last 2 days combined only had 22 million shares and the stock is almost 4x that now $140. I wonder there is so little volume. Maybe what nursebee said is the reason --...

    IBB or XBI?

XBI for short term looks better since it is equal weight. I personally own the 3X version -- LABU. I also own the 3 small vaccine players MRNA INO & NVAX. Seems like NVAX has done the best but these are incredibly volatile. I think Moderna has the best chance to get it to market.

Why is DGP so much higher than 2x GLD right now?

I understand what you wrote. I've been using these 2x & 3x ETFs for awhile. The less volatile the underlying index the more these ETFs do okay but yes they never return exactly 200% or 300% since as you say they are rebalanced daily. I think I read an article somewhere that stated for the S&P...

Why is DGP so much higher than 2x GLD right now?

When the UGLD ended I went to UGL (from Proshares) which is a lot more liquid than DGP. I also use AGQ in place of USLV. DGP doesn't seem to make sense -- it is down 9% and gold futures are a little higher?

    sky high inflation coming?

I LOLed at this. Is Zero Hedge ever right about anything. Its good to read if you're depressed. They have been bearish since they started the blog -- 2009 I think. Gold will continue to collapse until the next Wall Street Crash. Anyway there is nothing anyone can do to prevent the...

will this thing power up 2 big dell ultrasharp displays at 1900:1200 ?

No way are you going to be able plug in 2 HD monitors on a system with an embedded graphics subsystem even though the Intel Iris graphics 5100 is pretty good. You are better off buying a laptop with a dedicated GPU like a Precision M2800. A few more options: CyberPowerPC Fangbook Evo...

    low profile 6-monitor video card?

With a maximum 220 W power supply I'm not even sure a 4-port card will work for you. Even this card requires a 400 W power supply, although the reviewer on Newegg claims it works on his system with a 240 W PS. It has 4 mini DP connectors. Its not a very fast card however of course its only...

Build Your Own - Step by Step ( i7 2600k)

That's a pretty good price. It would probably cost you about the same at Newegg to build it: $310 Intel Core i7-4770 Processor 3.4GHz $ 60 CORSAIR Hydro Series H60 (water cooling for CPU) $140 Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) $220 24GB DDR3-1600 RAM $ 90 2TB 7,200RPM Hard Drive $150...

Has the FED begun to fix the TRUE problem?

Well now we know why there are no 10% corrections in this market. If the market drops 5-8% the PPT is back buying ES contracts by the handful. I think only something like Putin re-establishing the old Soviet Union would bring this market down 10%+ -- which is likely. I think the Crimea...

    Hit new highs or crash?

Nothing can derail this bull market. Buy all dips. This isn't even a real market. I would say that there isn't even a Yellen put -- it is a sovereign put. 6.6% unemployment has no more meaning since corporations just achieve earnings gains by firing workers and invest in technology to...

    bogus guru thread

Wow this guy is epicly bad. He has underperformed the S&P 500 every year since 2006. That is 8 straight years of this garbage. How can these charlatans come on TV all the time and pontificate about investments when they are this bad. I'm pretty sure the monkees throwing darts would do better...

    QQQ vs. NASDAQ Composite

Thanks. That makes a lot of sense. Just like all NYSE stocks outperform the NYSE index due to the effects of the smallcap & microcap stocks.

    QQQ vs. NASDAQ Composite

Why is there such a large spread between the ETF and the index? I see no such discrepancy between DIA & the Dow or SPY & S&P 500 Index. Is the QQQ not the same as the NASDAQ Composite? Is there a better way to invest in the Composite index?

CNBC what was the name of the trading company just on cnbc?

Equametrics Looks interesting but I wonder if it actually works okay. If its meant for the masses I'm sure it can't be that good. The CEO claimed he had Quants & Hedge Funds as clients so who knows maybe it is good.
