Joe Doaks and ET Develop the Perfect System

Nice chart. But why is it 10 minute? Won't that get you excommunicated? Bet you spent the rest of the day hiding under the bed from the storms. I have a break in my assignment, so I have time to hair-ass Jack and Spydie, and correspond with the rest of the B-Team.

    A New Untechnical Unalysis

If I might interject a logician's opinion, I believe you stray here into the realm of fuzzy logic if you wish to extend digital n-ary decision making to analog choices. Therefore I would refer you to Jack Hershey, ET's emeritus fuzzy logician, to address your suggestion.

Is there a faster way to get economic reports than CNBC or Bloomberg Channels

This thread begs the question, what would you do with faster news if you had it? Computers instantaneously analyze and respond to the news, and the resulting price tells you if the news was "good" or "bad". And human-reasoned confirmation or refutation follows within the time lag of most free...

    Str-squ

IMO about 80% of all daily highs and lows are derivable in advance. I do not trade ES, but I was curious to see if Jack's ideas applied to NQ. The NDX update rate of 15 seconds did not support such an investigation. So I created a reasonably accurate synthetic NDX updating once a second using...

    Str-squ

What I observed some years ago before I dismissed it as being of no practical use was that the difference between NQ and a synthetic NDX was greatest at strong S/R, that is at major intraday turning points. I must decline to identify the numerological cause/identity of those points. They are...

    Str-squ

Spydie, let us spar for a moment for the benefit of the unwashed masses, understanding that we will have a drink afterwards. Your response was typical SCT evasion. I essentially said: "Str-Squ occurs when the index and the future get out of whack at strong S/R. A clear ass-sertion, right or...

    Str-squ

Spydie, I went through all that bullshit when I constructed a real-time synthetic NDX years ago when I was getting heuristic with Jack. The phenomenon you describe only occurs near strong S/R, and therefore is ear-relevant if you know where that S/R IS. But that is too hard for the SCT crowd...

Anyone living & trading from an RV?

I trade using AT&T wireless wherever I am. $55/mo unlimited. No noticeable difference from cable. Never tried it from an RV, though. Streaming music is the best connectivity warning. I also use audibles on many things. The one that pings often enough to be a connectivty alert is the spread.

How predictive is volume to index futures?

I love to read these useless volume threads because no one ever thinks to ask if the volume was mostly at the bid, mostly at the ask, or somewhere in between. As if it made no difference. Accumulated volume in bars longer than seconds in index futures is highly misinformative.

The Great Debate: Jack vs. Hypo

Jack, I know you can't see me because you have me on ignore. Please tell me which aliases aren't on ignore and I'll switch. Surely you can't be blocking all 16. I challenge you to a debate on the theory and practice of SCT. I would debate you on my method but you don't get it. If ET protects...

You have dealt ET a death blow with one simple photo. The unnamed one is me.

An indicator that gives the S&R?

Ah, dear Jack, I know you can't see this because you have me on ignore, but how do you explain those frequent instances where a limit order wall builds up and repels boarders for a while, but those pesky market order traders overwhelm it to move the market against that wall? The DOM is like...

Who are the real Traders here.

Stealth, anyone who trades regularly and doesn't blow out his account is a trader. Do I have to make money doing it to be considered a whore? There are many gentleman traders here on ET such as myself who do it for the sheer fun of it. Not making much money at it is like being an avid fisherman...

    Learn Price Action

Here is the secret. Day after day, draw horizontal lines where price makes major reversals. Eventually you'll get it and be able to draw some of those horizontal lines yourself beforehand. Every time price reverses when it is nowhere near one of your lines, be assured that there are lines on...

Who are the real Traders here.

Newton was an amateur historian. Einstein played the violin. Franklin Roosevent was a sailor. Galileo played the lute. Sir Walter Scott was an axeman. Therefore Hypostomus is a trader, even though he doesn't make much money at it. bA trader TRADES. Skillfully. That's all there is to it. The...

"Well I think you're being sarcastic because we both know Jack does it but can you find me ONE PERSON IN THE WORLD who can produce a profitable track record trading off short term technical indicators. I'm not talking about price action nor charts. I'm talking about indicators." What's an...
