Hang Seng (HSI), Kospi 200 (K200) Trading Journal! (14 Year Old Trader)

Your journal reminds me a lot of one of my favorite ET journals, Youngtrader's Commodity Journal. He was super young as well, although I think you have even him beat... http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=100007&perpage=6&highlight=youngtrader&pagenumber=1 Anyway...

Rough couple of days...keep it up, I'm feeling good about Thursday. Cheers man, keep at it.

Day Trading the Forex for Profits...

Greg, Not to question your methodology, it's obviously working for you...but are you concerned with a variation of risk following winners/losers. You have your edge, yes, you will have losses...but when you change your risk (reduce), you reduce your edge in a sense because when those...

Day Trading the Forex for Profits...

Greg, I appreciate your detailed response and concur with your post, points made, etc. I ought to brush up on my math skills as I was rounding my true goal of 20% annual down to 14%, half of which is where you were at earlier this week (see below). But yes, I shoot for about 20% annual...

Day Trading the Forex for Profits...

Yes, volatility is hit and miss with Tokyo and certainly nothing compared to UK/US. When volatility is present, combined with big moves on UJ & EU during the UK & US sessions, I'm able to fade the earlier moves using TL +S&R, etc. When volatility sucks, trading is usually a scratch or a hold...

Day Trading the Forex for Profits...

I trade the same but try and put more emphesis on the Tokyo session and then the first hour or two of London, depending on setups. Unfortunately, I work at 6AM so...I can only take one or two nights a week of being up that late, waiting for trades that may or may not present themselves during...

    A 70k bet that I can't make a 50% gain in 2009

Great stuff Puddles, keep it up. Day after day, you press home the importance of risk vs reward & discipline of keeping with such. While I miss Geez's posts, it's yours that really opened my eyes in recent months to the importance of R:R. Cheers man, looking forward to the August recap.

How I stopped making the same mistakes in 2010 and started to make more money

I'd absolutely vote for an end of the week recap, if you would find it to be any benefit to yourself. I've enjoyed following along, thanks!

    Forex daytrading:an honest attempt

Fuck that guy, there is a lot of bullshit here on ET, make sure not to step in and most certainly don't respond to it. Looking good, watching UCHF and EU and how they work with each other to confirm setups. And I thought I started young...at your age, don't get stupid but don't put too...

    Forex daytrading:an honest attempt

USD/CHF is inverse correlated to EUR/USD. When I'm trading one, I like the other to show a mirror reflection of S&R, TL, etc, to sort of confirm my trade.

Sounds good, keep doing what you're doing, fear of loss should lift with time & experience.

Nice gains but I must say I'm worried that your eventual stopout will easily wipeout any of these gains. You talk of missing 70+ point moves yet I rarely see you hold a trade for more than a few points or let a trade go much against you. While the fear of losing a few bucks on a stopout...

Good place to heckle and shame the newb (fx)

Stay focused on your trades and properly maintaining risk control. Don't stress about stop running but investigate it with an open mind if you're suspecting such. Keep in mind that there are a LOT of losing traders out there that will blame everyone but themselves for setting stops too...

Good place to heckle and shame the newb (fx)

I would hope so Nod. Your thread seems to be one of the cleanest as far as that sort of crowd goes. I used to be able to say the same about geez's thread. Love your journal and I'm a daily reader. Man, starting to sound like those radio show call ins... :) Cheers Aye, keep it up.

Good place to heckle and shame the newb (fx)

In addition, you can check out correlated pairs. I strongly agree with keeping tabs on just one or two currency pairs...but for example, while I trade the EUR/USD, I'm always watching USD/CHF as they're usually inversely correlated (USD/CHF goes up, EUR/USD goes down). If you're a...
