Average daily profit with $50K account?

No doubt, but my main point was that because of HAVING SO MUCH RISK ON THE TABLE AT ONE TIME that when you are encountered with these events you will get hammered, instead of hurt.

Average daily profit with $50K account?

It can happen one time per year or 3 times per year or whenever. It is like getting 00 in roulette. Just because it happened last time doesn't mean it can't happen on the next roll again.

Average daily profit with $50K account?

It happened when the ES went down 65 points, it was locked for 4 hours. It could happen though in the morning and lock all day, last instance was at night. You should know what you are trading before you step into the snake pit. Do yourself a favor and just search for it online. Do...

Average daily profit with $50K account?

You don't think the ES can limit up/down? It could happen, but you have to prepare for that by always limiting your risk. You will hit that deviation if you are in the market for a long enough time. You obviously know the story about lumber. I am not saying you are going to get tossed for...

Average daily profit with $50K account?

Again, depends what your risk profile is. Under 2% is good, in reality anything under 4% is good depending what your historical stats are etc. Under 1% would be the best bet though, easier mkt. to accomplish this in would be FOREX IMO.

Average daily profit with $50K account?

Just tell me what your average max open drawdown is to achieve $450.00 So what are you risking to gain for ease of math $500.00 a day? I am guessing at least double that? When you get enough historical information there are statistical equations to figure out your risk of ruin and all...

Average daily profit with $50K account?

You didn't address it lol. You just don't understand it. You are under capitalized for the game you are playing. Yes you can do what you are doing but it isn't professional risk management. For anyone to take you serious you must be a professional. Obviously you are not looking for that...

Average daily profit with $50K account?

You do not understand risk management, you are showing it by this previous post. Percentages aren't relevant for traders? Seriously?

Average daily profit with $50K account?

9 contracts on the line with a $50,000 account should make you shit yourself as well. It is my guess you do not trade at all. Thats almost 1% per ES point. What happens when the price just keeps going the other way? Double up? Then triple.. then... BOOM! JP has your 50 large.

    Interactive Brokers Spread/Pricing

Well here is the deal. Basically have my data feed right now through FXCM. I didn't have access to really anything else. It trades about 8 times a day and the "take profit" if when the last price crosses a moving average. So basically over the past 6 months of tick data tested it traded...

    Interactive Brokers Spread/Pricing

OK, so in my mind that doesn't make a lot of sense unless the spread (or the cost of using market orders on both sides) is really low, like around 3-4. Because OEC (my other choice) has it listed "as low" as 4.5 and you don't have to pay any extra commissions. Not really sure what "as low"...

    Interactive Brokers Spread/Pricing

When you say 6-8 points wide then you have the next poster saying they have the $2.50 commission.. is it both? Or how does that all work? It's unfortunately down to only IB and OEC for my since the program I use for autotrading (Sierra) only connects with either one of those. The program I...

    Interactive Brokers Spread/Pricing

Took a quick look around their website but could not find anything. I was specifically looking for information on the pair GBP/AUD and what spread/pricing was available from anyone that knows. Minimum lot size as well. I guess anyone who has any input positive/negative about their FX would...

Average daily profit with $50K account?

Yes, mostly losing your cool and getting mentally frustrated and losing patience. Those are the downfalls of discretionary trading. Those can also be factors in an automated system you can't keep your hands off of. In reality the best bet is to take a historically proven system and give it to...

Average daily profit with $50K account?

I'm not going to respond to all of this, but referring to your 20:1 risk reward, I would say yes, and nothing has a historical 99% win rate, you are making bad assumptions again Think about the odds of winning the lottery?.. Now apply that to losing in this game I hope you do well really...

Average daily profit with $50K account?

You are clueless sometimes ABC. We already explained what you are incorrectly assuming when you say you are making 400-500/day with $50,000 starting capital. You are not incorporating risk of ruin in your models. Please read a book or take someone's advice, one day you will look back at...

    Zero Sum Theory.

Im not sure this is debatable really, but when they settle up accounts if mine was debited $100 there was either 1 or multiple participants whos accounts were credited a total sum of $100 as well.

It is my advice that you listen to your new friend Mike. He is more than correct and like he said this is not scratching the surface of what could happen. Go back to late 2008 and tell me how you got filled or early 2009. You sound a lot like me when I first started this venture. I...

    Strategy Desk, TDAmeritrade

My father has a TD A. account and I tried that backtest one time. All I can say is "I doubt it" regarding their results. I use SIERRA, I am sure you could find something a little more professional before you risk a dollar of your own money.
