Perhaps to those that take more than one trade per second. TICK and TRIN that are the main subject of this thread are more universal than quotes for any individual stock or futures issue and as such they do deserve to be given priority.

Who cares whether IB is a data provider or not? If they provide data for financial instruments (as do all brokerages for their clients), they can also provide the data for TICK and TRIN. I can even pay some extra 2 bucks if necessary hoping though that frequent traders would get this waived.

And I guess that once I have an account with them I would be able to use their RT quotes through Quote Tracket that is a bit more cooler to use than Livecharts. Is that correct? Is anyone doing it like that? TIA

I guess that the 'RT' TRIN and TICK quotes one can get via Quote Tracker are delayed at least 10 min. I was told that it was not the case in the past. So, are there any free or at least cheap (less than $20 per month) alternatives? TIA

Why do you need Level2 for swing trading? Beats me... I used to swing trade with only EOD charts and I did quite well. Level2 is necessary for daytrading, but why you want to pay for it to swing trade is beyond me. Get QT and IB and start small, when you see that you need more, then get it...

There are no monthly fees for the IB+QT combo except the 10 buck fee for the data if you do not trade frequently enough and do not pay at least $30 in commissions per month although even this could only be for futures and not stocks. I trade futures mostly, so I am not quite sure if that $10 fee...

Save your money by choosing IB instead of PD and you will also get plenty of free apps that work with IB, such as QT or BT2003. To trade stocks you don't need anything that even remotely approaches a silver level not to mention a platinum one.

This does not have to be true at all. 30% is a sample big enough to get a reliable take on the volume pressure. Most popular population polls use samples much smaller and yet they usually get it right. Learn some basic statistics before you offer opinions like that.
