    ES Journal - 2012

Hey people, participants and lurkers. I've enjoyed this forum lately, and its helping me to gel some of my trading ideas. With regard to the political comments lately, although not surprising given temporal considerations, just a comment on the static partisan stereotypes of the past 50...

Prop firms sponsor for series 7?

Echo sponsored me back in about 2003, and at that point they even paid the exam fees for new traders. I've heard, but haven't got any facts to support, that you could possibly get a state agency to sponsor you. If this is true it is probably different for each state.

Chicago WTS Open House - Jan 17th

I for one appreciat SgtSlottter's comments here. I also appreciate that Barron allows these posts to remain. Although some of this may be contentious it is important that ET allow the debate. I don't mind that firms creep around the periphery of legality in order to sidestep what at times...

Hot Potato - Who's Holding the Gold

The world is so awash in paper reserves that only a miniscule move into physicals will drive the price of these much smaller markets up dramatically. Obviously too there are physical buyers or they wouldn't be paying whack-jobs like Glenn Beck to hawk the stuff to the retail crowd.

Best way to Sell Silver Bullion

I second what lorax has to say above. In the last few months I've found that coin stores are willing to pay a premium to spot for rounds and small bars, just ask around. Remember that with Craigslist there are issues with trust and shipping, and with Ebay there are the fees which can be...

Jim Rogers states Bank of America is going "down"

Heh-heh, 97 Billion in Goodwill. You can strip that one out of the balance sheet, as I'd have to say BAC has a negative "goodwill" value in the eyes of the world. From war profiteering in Vietnam to the current practice of securitizing tax lien portfolios, B of A is a scummy institution with...

Isn't mining more gold the same as printing more money?

Correct. A "gold standard" doesn't negate inflation, it just tends to mute it. As an example around 1900 the value of gold dust in the Yukon had deflated massively in terms of goods such as hay and milk. Nobody had access to fresh foods, but many had gold dust in large quantities. It could...

    Onyx Equity Traders?

Onyx is simply wonderful. Their strategies are purely low risk and low maintenance. They are run by a super experienced and knowledgeable trader named Tokyo Joe. He is very conservative and doesn't care about his own Profit and Loss, just that his traders make money. This is a wonderful...

Gold Breakout Today (4/1/10) - Long Term

Nice call and nice follow-up. An awfully big move might be brewing, and I'm not talking $1250.

Do you trade from a day-job that is unrelated to trading?

I flew for a guy in Alaska that would let me trade when I was standing by, between flights or when the weather was bad. He was a great employer in general and I tried hard not to abuse the luxury.

    BP Oil Spill

I can't think of a single company that has brought America more misery and grief than the shit-stained legacy of BP. Recent disasters such as Texas City, Prudhoe, and uncountable spills on the Slope pale in comparison to the manipulations foisted on the American public by this outfit's...

    GMCR giving me the jitters

Earnings on GMCR. They have crummy high-acid coffee anyway.

Grinding it out, day after day

Yeah she said that. There was a hair in my salad at a really fancy restaurant. I didn't save the hair so I guess you have no proof.

Grinding it out, day after day

Nice blog, thanks for posting it. I've been working on keeping a much better trading journal and your blog has inspired to get on that much more aggresively. What is the preferred methodology of attaching trades to charts for review, or do you not do a visual trade diary? Noticed your...

    New stealth fighter

As these weapons get more complicated, their life-spans decrease, and acquisition costs increase. The F-117 was the shortest lived major fighter program ever, and built at great cost for a country with only a dubious need. Now we are proving we don't learn with all the problems in current...

Grinding it out, day after day

Man this guy Dustin is always tooting his own horn. Come on dude, you know futs is where it's at. Better yet stocks (ETF's) that exploit the inneficiencies in futures. Should you guys really be exploiting inneficiencies anyway? Isn't that unfair to everybody else?

ASSENT - got this offer... are there better out there?

HeHe, no software fee at Echo huh? Then I guess I've donated a bunch of slush money to a black target huh? .035 at Hold for me. Software fee is minimal relative to Echo's stated fee. This per share fee issue is getting tired. It costs nothing to clear trades.

Jim Rogers tells CNBC to F* OFF

He's very sharp on markets. His problem is with the Bottle. He never discusses Ethanol, its too close to home. CNBC guy got his fight....and he lost.

    Hold Bros Grey Box Issues

I'm using this platform. Front end is much like any other platform from a manual trader's perspective. Back end appears to be shite. I've had more data problems than anything else I've ever used: my own orders fail to show up on LII, lots of stale data esp on Arca, and a T and S which is...
