TD Ameritrade Held Me Hostage In a Bad Trade- Where to go now?

Yes. Lesson learned. I did call them while this was occuring. I was on hold waiting for them to answer for at least 25 min. While I was on hold I was still trying to close out. The order finally appeared 10-15 minutes later, while I was on hold, and I sold out. Then about 25 min. into...

TD Ameritrade Held Me Hostage In a Bad Trade- Where to go now?

LOL. I don't think you really get what happened. I DID get the fill, but they did not post it to my account for about 10 - 15 minutes. So I was unable to do anything with the filled order. It then went against me. And I DID call. It took over a half hour for them to answer my call. I was...

TD Ameritrade Held Me Hostage In a Bad Trade- Where to go now?

I was jumping in on a market order. Should have filled quickly. And, indeed, it did. It filled. But I didn't know; I didn't know what price, and, worst of all, I COULD NOT GET OUT because there was nothing to reverse in my account for 10 - 15 min. Ugh.

TD Ameritrade Held Me Hostage In a Bad Trade- Where to go now?

So, as a day trader, I sometimes get into a trade that I need to get out of right away because price moves opposite of what I am anticipating. Monday I went long and the order never seemed to execute. My order just popped around on the screen. I was never given confirmation of a price and...

Most Useful S/R Lines for Intraday Trading Levels??

Thanks again! I get what you mean, and I will be going over my charts this weekend to really understand which areas are indeed important, and which ones I can let go of. Your posts have been very much appreciated. I always use a buy stop to enter, and your idea of a "proving itself" channel...

Most Useful S/R Lines for Intraday Trading Levels??

LOL. I didn't quote your entire post here. But I wanted to thank you again. Very gracious of your time, and I appreciate all that you wrote. It really helps a lot. I will go back over my charts this coming weekend and get a good idea of which ones are important. Cheers to you and yours...

Most Useful S/R Lines for Intraday Trading Levels??

Thanks for your input. But, honestly, I find that my S/R lines at the highs and lows are working in my time frames. I would just like to hone my skill more. If it was all so random, then price would stop all over the place, no? But it stops on one of my lines about 95% of the time. My job...

Most Useful S/R Lines for Intraday Trading Levels??

Thank you for answering me. I think I have been using the words S/R lines incorrectly?? I use the highs and lows myself, but off a 1-hour chart, then, if new day's price is still close to yesterday's range, which most times it is, I use a 15-min. chart to chart all the pivots off the previous...

Most Useful S/R Lines for Intraday Trading Levels??

Holy SH*T. I think I have been naming my horizontal lines incorrectly! I USE (and therefore meant) the Swing Highs and Lows, as well. I thought these were Support and Resistance. I guess I have been using Pivot Points. I use them on the same time frames as you do, just a different...

Most Useful S/R Lines for Intraday Trading Levels??

Yes, thank you, Jeff. It would be so nice if people would just follow the adage,"If it doesn't apply, let it fly," as I find so many people here seem to want to ridicule and tear ideas down, old, new or wise or unwise, instead of providing something more constructive, such as a BETTER...

Most Useful S/R Lines for Intraday Trading Levels??

Thank you. I have been going back on a one-hour chart using the highs and lows to mark areas that will possibly be S/R on my 5 min. chart. I find that even though I am sometimes going back more than a week or two, that often these areas are hit AGAIN and price does pullback or stop at these...

Most Useful S/R Lines for Intraday Trading Levels??

I have found that I am putting way too many horizontal Support and Resistance lines on my day trading chart. I am guessing I am going back too far. Which horizontal S/R are the most helpful for intraday trading?? Which are the ones I should be charting, and which ones are the ones that are...
