Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

You need to ask IB. Give them the specific order details. If the reroute is supposed to happen at 09:27 (is it?), there seems to be a problem. Presumably, the ones that it rerouted to AMEX after 09:30 were the result of the SMART router seeing AMEX as the best offer and attempting to put you...

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

The only diff between an OPG order and a non-OPG order is that the OPG order will auto-cancel if not filled at the open (because its limit price was not marketable against the opening price). Most specs will give you the open for small orders sent up until a few seconds before he prints the...

IB commissions for low priced stocks

I don't see how either Plan B or Plan C qualifies as flat fee, for exactly the reasons I specified.

    anyone else notice this bullshit?

Quote from Steve Tvardek: You know whats fucked up though, I noticed a pattern the other day and there was about 10k of offers lined up and I knew they were gonna be pulled so before it looked like the bids would gun for the fake offers, I sent a 3K buy market order. the fucker (WHR) holds my...

IB commissions for low priced stocks

Is there any direct-access firm that has a fixed price for limit orders? I don't see how there could be. The only way a fixed price can work is if a firm accepts payment for order flow from a market-maker for sending them the order. If you send a marketable order for an ETF or NASDAQ stock to...

    IB and trading halts

Presumably IB takes the halt info from the same place that http://www.nasdaqtrader.com/asp/TradeHaltShowPage.asp gets its data, which should be a max of 60 seconds if it's polled, or close to instant if it's pushed via the Naz quote system. I will mention that after hours, the ECNs handle...

Why did IB do so poorly in this businessweekonline.com rating

I look forward to Steve's response to BW (as soon as they bother getting back to him). Most responsible journalists, when confronted with such a wide range of values for a particular statistic, might ask the people with the bad stats for a response. That, of course, usually ruins a sexy-sounding...

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

Don't send them to SMART if you are simply trying to get the opening print. Send the order to NYSE/AMEX directly. Make sure they are not set to RTH-only either, or you may miss a quick opening since the order won't get sent until 09:30:00 ET or so, and I've seen some stocks open very shortly...

    TRAC pricing?

The best answer is always "ask your broker". Many brokers don't keep up with the current rates, or have other reasons for charging you a rate different than that advertised by the ECN (possibly to deal with monthly minimums, other not-so-easy-to-identify-per-trade charges, etc.).

How Many Real Time 10-min Charts Can We Have Open Simultaneously Before Problems? Ib?

I have two TWS instances feeding a total of about 160 symbols of realtime stock and futures data to an Excel spreadsheet via DDE on a slow machine. It consumes relatively few resources, and the machine can easily do other things at the same time. The problem is not likely to be with IB, but...

    Foreign broker for <25K account

Just remember that your money is not SIPC-insured with those solutions. If they blow up or just decide to run away, you don't have much recourse.

    IB Suggestions & Improvements

Reminder: This is supposed to be a new/better feature thread, not for operational complaints. I find that, on my ancient slow secondary machine, when I load a lot of orders into basket trader, and I have audit trails enabled, it can be quite slow. I have to remember to turn audit trails off...

    otcbb at IB

To my knowledge, IB routes to ARCAEdge and to NITE (the MM). If there is no electronic quote (on ARCAEdge), and the order is sent to NITE, NITE has to be interested in filling it in order for you to get an execution. If you can see NITE's offer at your limit price on the OTCBB montage, that...

    otcbb at IB

Yup - that can happen too. I just figured it would be better to have it sit where more people can see it instead of on NITE's internal book, where it will be ignored until (and maybe in spite of!) NITE getting an opposing order. As many have said, stay far, far away from OTCBB unless you have...

    InteractiveBrokers, Oh My!

FWIW, recently-built or upgraded cable systems (i.e. where fiber replaced coax) seem to have been engineered with enough capacity, even in high-density areas. I get the rated 3Mbps from Charter at pretty much any time of day, assuming the uploading site has the capacity. Others I've talked to...

    How much should I charge?

If you're a profitable trader with a proven track record, charge 1%/year management fee and 20% of the profits, just like any other pro. If not, don't do it at all. Why do you want to lose your friend's money for him, regardless of how little it is? If you want to play, paper-trade.

    UVN being manipulated ??

First, I must correct my previous post. UVN has, indeed, been on the threshold list for some time, indicating failures to deliver. I must have been looking at 2005 instead of 2006. There may, indeed, be naked shorting going on here, though I doubt it affects the price much. Sorry :( I will...

    UVN being manipulated ??

That's a fail list from 15 months ago. It's typical of people that are convinced the whole world is out to kill "their" stock to post something like this. UVN is not currently failing, according to the threshold lists from the last two weeks, and can be easily borrowed in size from a number of...

The gap between expiration opening price and SET

To me, it doesn't seem to matter what has happened in the past - just that it can happen in the future. There's no reason to think that another 09/11 event couldn't happen, on SOQ Friday this time.

    Stop Execution at IB

What is it that you think was wrong? Looking at T&S, your order became a market buy order when the bid hit 219.75 at 10:28:23 ET. At the same time, the offer went to 219.79, which your order then took.
