How to prevent trading too big size?

I would definitely reduce the capital in my account. OR if you have a good broker you can ask him to have your trading size reduced so you'd be restricted to trade a number of contracts at one time. You're broker should do that if he care's about your account and not just his commissions.

    My DAYTRADER story

Casino's may not offer margin but they definitely do offer credit. I've seen this story many times on Elite Trader. I day trade only when I have the time and am not working, and I have set aside some capital I can afford to lose for day trading. These types of stories really give me a...

Just sold my business for $250k

I'd definitely find another alternative if I were you. Trading takes a lot of time, patience and risk capital. Many of my friends who are new to trading, come into the game thinking they can make a nice living trading markets, when in reality they lose the capital they start with within the...

    Blowing Up

Couldn't agree more! Take the time to learn a strategy that fits well in whichever market you're trading. Observe the market, journal the days, develop a strategy to trade the market, and stay disciplined!!! Don't cry about not being successful in these markets on a public forum because the...

    Evil Oil Speculators

True but if you are looking at a true hedger who actually owns the instrument or in this case commodity; for example farmers, airlines, etc., than these traders do directly use the commodity they trade.

    Controlling Jittery Emotions

It definitely takes time and experience in these markets to be able to control your emotions. But even than, seasoned traders still find themselves sometimes panicked in trades. It's how well you can handle it and still be focused on the trade.

    Trading is all about ...

I couldn't agree more with the quoted statement. I don't think that's what trading is all about but I definitely think it's a huge factor about the longevity you are able to maintain when it comes to trading these markets. It's about being able to set a loss limit and when you have that losing...

    Good trading should feel bad?

I think emotion and fear are huge factors of why traders who trade stocks, futures, options etc find themselves with no success. Paper trading definitely gives traders who are new to the game a false interpretation of how they would react in real market type settings. Especially when they are...

Is it illegal to post short calls on my blog?

I believe it's only illegal when you are a license broker and your blog has not been approved by the SEC and also if your blog traders are compensating you for this blog or to receive your trade suggestions. I would definitely check the SEC website though just to make sure.

    Day trading is losers game

I think day trading would really only be a losing game if you aren't able to manage risk and set realistic goals for yourself such as a profit target and daily risk potential your account can sustain. I think it's really dependent on the longevity of your account and how long you are able to...
